Feck, Denny, here's a history lesson.

I protected myself night 1.

UT outed day 2, as did irre. Because there was talk of Irre giving a boomerang that would switch UT with someone else, scum sent their roleblocker against him, & tried to NK Feck, who I protected. Bad decision by scum, it turns out.

I outed late on night 2, too late for scum to kill me.

Night 3 I was given the option of protecting myself or UT. There were other options too, but obviously I did not protect Irre, and could not protect Feck for the second time in a row.

Night 4 - 2 outed town specials, 1 night kill. Scum flips a coin, & loses.

When you do the maths, the odds of me being alive are better than 50%.

I gave my reasons for not revealing who I protected on nights 3 & 4, but if it stops all this paranoiac fosing I will out it. As I said before, it is most likely scum/SK already knows.

Guys, it's 10.30 PM at night. So if you post something in the next hour or 2 & don't get a reply for another 8 hours, don't be surprised. I'll be here a bit longer though (working late.)

This does make me feel better. If you are in fact the doc I do not want you to say who you protected. we we see what tomorrow brings.

I do too.

The different weapons suggest that is (was) a scum team and an indie.

I think it is an important distinction to discern whether or not it is an indie left because an SK would be just as likely to kill a scum as they would town, so that it would give them some credibility. A serial killer would have different motivations for making a kill then scum; an SK role could just sit back and pick off people that they do not like or have past grudges with, until they pinged on someone's radar and then they could just take them out.

Oddly, this line of reasoning puts Praying and Linus as less likely to be SK's in my mind, because Linus has been all hot and bothered about Praying since day 1 (previous game issues) http://rationalia.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=81&t=24724. Surely if one of them was the SK they would have just killed each other by now.
I don't need to tell you who I protected on night 3 or night 4, but scum / SK probably knows who it was last night because their kill failed. In all probability that person will die on night 5 because I can't protect them twice, but on the off-chance the killer took a night off, or chooses to target someone else, there's no reason for me to show my hand today.
Fair enough. I could see by saying whom you protected would put them at risk for getting killed tonight if you cannot protect the same person twice in a row. So far, you have said that you protected yourself and UT, I think? Can you tell us whom you protected on night three?

And why not "obviously", Irre? She was very valuable to town. I am not attacking you, just curious.

I am also wondering if the SK might have some kind of kill restriction...maybe they can only be killed every other night or something in exchange for their being viewed as an elf or a half-elf?

Denny, while I understand your reasoning, I can promise you that I would have killed MSG and I would have requested to Oblivion that it be an especially grisly death, since he called me dumb. And I would not have killed MZ (assuming he was an SK kill) as an SK has just as much to fear from scum as town does.

Although through on Day 2, MSG made an observation about Zigmen's (scum) ready defense for Praying:

http://rationalia.com/forum/viewtopic.p ... 7&start=40

So maybe it is just a scum left? I don't know. I am just going through the thread and looking for things that might have been overlooked at the time.

It's possible (probable!) that Oblivion still has a surprise in store for us, but for the moment, we don't need to get all paranoid. We just keep narrowing down the odds until there's no threats to town left.

At this stage of the game praying, bolero and divagreen are the only players without a credible town claim.

Sorry to the (probably) 2 of you who aren't anti-town, but remember, if you get lynched as town, you're just taking one for the team.

After rereading day three earlier, I'm thinking Bolero is town, or at least she was at that point of the game. Bolero pointed out in a couple of posts on that day the interest Mantis and Aza had in promoting a Praying lynch.

Diva, Zigmen's defense of Praying could have been a ruse to distance himself from the Mantis/Aza push to lynch Praying, and to make himself look townish if she was lynched and flipped town.

If Mantis and Aza were keen to bus a fellow scum, then Praying's done a pretty good job of not lying down and taking it. I think it's more likely they thought of her as an easier lynch than she turned out to be.

Linus has had a strong interest in lynching Praying too. I am very interested in reading his replies to the questions MSG and I asked him earlier.

On the reread I've noticed quite a few things I'd missed on the first reading, some of it has probably become more obvious due to the benefit of hindsight, but also because I've been able to be more attentive today.
