John Galliano

Post by AnInconvenientScotsman » Wed Mar 09, 2011 5:11 pm

Having voted no on the poll about the US decision on Westboro's gay hate protests (which I have since changed my mind about), I was wondering what people thought about The prospect of John Galliano being prosecuted in France for antisemitism (he could face up to 6 months in prison).
When I feel sad, I stop being sad and be awesome instead.
True story.

I'd like him to go to prison because he is a dick ...but no not unless all the other minorities get the same protection ,and then where do you stop ?

Thought crime should never be illegal. Acting on it is, but we've already got laws about that.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

It gets a bit fuzzy with inciting violence and the distinction between credible and non-credible threats, but I'm pretty sure that however reprehensible Galliano's remarks were, if he did make threats they weren't very credible.

Doesn't go far enough - we should shoot cartoonists who insult us!
