Almost half the country would back a far-Right party if they gave up violence, an astonishing new poll revealed today.
A total of 48 per cent said that they would support a group that vowed to crack down on immigration and Islamic extremists.
They would also restrict the building of mosques and order the flag of St George or the Union Jack be flown on all public buildings.
Anti-racism campaigners said the findings were a clear sign that Britain's mainstream parties were losing touch with many voters on the issue of race.
There has been a recent wave of support for extremists such as the English Defence League and the British National Party.
And the poll, which will spark fresh fears of racial tension, suggests that the level of backing for a far-Right party could equal or even outstrip that in countries such as France, the Netherlands and Austria.
France's National Front party hopes to secure 20 per cent in the first round of the presidential vote next year.
The Dutch anti-Islam party led by Geert Wilders attracted 15.5 per cent of the vote in last year's parliamentary elections.
The revelations will spark fresh fears of racial tension in Britain amid a new wave of support for extreme right-wing parties like the British National Party and the English Defence League.

Violence and bigotry is part of the make-up of the far right and can't be separated out. A lot of other policies tend to go hand in hand with the ideas in the OP. Things like banning homosexuality, censorship of the media and so on. As ever a survey that doesn't go into the reality. Not sure? Take a look at some of the National Front's policies here:-

This country will fall apart over its values. My own intuition is that civil war will break out within ten years as oil becomes more expensive and unemployment goes skyhigh.

Racial predjudice is an inherited instinct. It's there in all humans of all races. We expect people nowadays to excercise mind over instinct, but we shouldn't be surprised if they don't. It's just being human.
Humans aren't all warm, good natured cuddly things and never will be.

I personally don't blame the british for resenting immigration, especially the poor.
Immigration has kept the poorest in poverty in this country. If you keep a steady trickle of people coming in, from countries where the wages are extremely low, then employers will always be able to hire someone at rock bottom wages.
And the poor and unskilled have to compete with that, or stay on the dole.

That's why the gap between rich and poor has got wider, and youth unemployment is so high.
The young are usually unskilled, and without work experience. So they have been competing for years with people from the west indies, pakistan, india, bangla desh, and lately somalia and eastern europe.
All of these people can work for less, as they are used to living on less, and many just save up, and go home to spend it, where the prices are low.
The british poor don't have that option.

That's why unskilled immigration hurts the poor. And makes life easier for the rich.
What is really annoying is that we were NEVER ASKED !! if we would like loads of immigration. It was imposed on a tiny Island crammed with fifty million people.
How can you blame anyone for resenting that?

The real enemy of the 'poor struggling masses(everyone else)' are the rich who've set up the conditions. The real racialists are those who deny there is lineage and that all are born equal when reality couldn't be more different. It is the politcally correct sociapathic ruling elite (a very small number) who are making hell on earth. They need to be the target here although they've powerful memetic defences that make any direct assault unlikely to succeed.

What was he sample size? Who was asked to complete it? How were the questions worded? Surely everyone knows surveys will say just what you want them to say?
