I just looked it up, seems it's could be from broad hips, or from "abroadwife", meaning a woman away from her husband (otherwise known as a "lucky bitch"). I found it amusing that the the broad jump was changed to the long jump because of the negative connotations of the word.

I consider it a good night if I get hit on by anything, even a sheep.
