Isn't that odd... I just read the "Atheist's viewpoint" link above, and until I did so, hadn't noticed the uncompromisingly religious name of the city. "Christchurch" was, and is, just the name of a place.

Re: Christchurch Earthquake
Listening to the news of the earthquake radio this morning they mentioned people having limbs amputated to be freed. My daughter looked up and asked me, "Mum, why do you look like you're about to cry".

Good news, AC!Alan C wrote:Just heard, he's ok.

Although it may look like a forum, this site is actually a crowd-sourced science project modelling the slow but inexorable heat death of the universe.

It's a piece of piss to be cowiz, but it's not cowiz to be a piece of piss. Or something like that.

There was also a case of a woman who spoke to one of the newsreaders over the phone Tuesday night, she was rescued. Moving.
And when he was carrying that cross up the hill, any normal realistic bloke would have mule-kicked the guy on the left, clobbered the one on the right, and been over that green hill and far away before you could say "Pontius Pilate." - Arnold Rimmer
