There's so many numbers but surely there's a real number as well? OK who hid the bodies? :dunno:

Too many.
But here’s the thing about rights. They’re not actually supposed to be voted on. That’s why they’re called rights. ~Rachel Maddow August 2010

yes.
Our struggle is not against actual corrupt individuals, but against those in power in general, against their authority, against the global order and the ideological mystification which sustains it.

Fewer than died as a result of the previous decade of sanctions.

Got figures Warren? Credible ones.

There was a UNICEF report that placed the figure at 500,000 children and somewhere in excess of 1,000,000 adults that had died as a result of the sanctions. Unfortunately, the report had been taken down last time I checked, and I hadn't saved a copy on my machine, so I can't offer a link. Here's a summary that estimates half a million children under age 5, though the link to the report is broken:

The issue was that dual use items were banned even if one of the uses was legitimate. In particular, many medical supplies were prohibited by the sanctions because they could also be used for biological weapons programs. There was also the whole issue of inadequate food.

Violence is not the only way to kill innocent people.

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.
