Army Coup in Ireland?

“THE situation has become so bad that an Army coup is a real possibility.”
It seems the Middle East is not the only part of the world under threat from political instability — Ireland is also, according to retiring Fianna Fáil TD Ned O’Keeffe.
The Cork East TD said that military intervention in the form of a coup d’etat could be on the cards because of the mess An Taoiseach Brian Cowen and Minister for Finance Brian Lenihan had left the country in.
“Our political system is going to fail further. The two Brians have made a right mess of the country and I see the real possibility of an Army coup.
“People thought I was mad with all the things I have predicted through the years, but I foresaw the economy collapsing due to lax regulation on building housing estates and unwanted shopping centres.”
He claimed Charlie Haughey would be turning in his grave if he saw what Ireland had become.
“So what if Charlie liked nice women and a few extra nice shirts? He was the best leader we ever had.”
Love the last sentence about the biggest crook in Irish politics evah. :hehe:

Prepare yourselves for an invasion, Brits!
I envision Operation Sealion II from the west.

Nah - we will just have to welcome it back into the warm bosom of the Empire to stop the rabble from making yet more trouble!

Should never have given them those frigates? All this trouble came about because they think a couple of rust buckets makes them a military power. :coffee:

Allow me to make this very clear, there are no plans currently in the works to stage a coup in Ireland. This is all baseless speculation and groundless accusations.

Anyone who continues along these lines will be first against the wall when the revolution comes.

I mean, when the revolution doesn't come.

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

... and it will not be televised, brother.

BTW, wasn't Ned O'Keeffe the idiot who called for ‘Babe’ to be banned because he feared it would put people off their bacon and ham? :laff:

I have a sneaky suspicion that he is as dumb as a sack of pig's trotters, and so are most of his supporters.

I know we have, 'cause I took pictures of them* when they were on display a few years ago.

Just to clarify: I took pictures of all of them. :hehe:

Note: The tanks are only Scorpions ...

The tank is made of aluminium, too...

Good anti-rust idea for Irish weather, really...
