They are obviously gullible, they aren't rational, they lie to themselves to intensify their God delusion and they don't have that feeling of "groundedness" and intellectual calm which I think is inherent in atheists.
Having been there not all that long ago, I'd not like to think of myself as "stupid", but perhaps more as someone who didn't actually think much about it. And when I did, I changed my mind.
+1.

Okay. Why did he shoot a teapot?

Because God did not make a law against it...

I know several extremely intelligent theists (and a few pretty thick atheists). How they reconcile their beliefs is a mystery to me as it obviously wasn't something I was able to do, but that doesn't make them stupid.

With all due respect, I'm more interested in teapots getting shot at the moment.

I assure you, there was a calm and intellectually grounded reason for it.

But seriously. Many of us are idiots, even if we are atheists.

No. I thought you were all admirers of Richard Dawkins, and quite sensible. I just signed in here after seeing a link on his forum. I can sort of see why he jettisoned his forum and you all with it - it's more Monty Python than anything else here.

No, it's also lots of drama and occasionally some sex. And there IS actually some serious discussion as well

We're not all admirers of Dawkins.. sure, some of us admire his intellect or work, I think there are even one or two around that would like a mouthful of his love juices, but some of us think he's a dickhead.
Men! They're all beasts!
Yeah. But isn't it wonderful?

Stick around! You are far too serious about your atheism my friend! One thing that ditching god does is leave the universe looking mighty absurd!
