That 'Queen of Denmark' CD is fab probably my favourite of the second half of last year in that 'alternative' genre (whatever that is). Funny, poignant, sad, joyous, angry, and with a real sense of honest drama. Reminded me of Elton John when he was good (which was a long, long time ago). A Close second would be Sufjan Stevens' 'Age of Adz' CD, which leans a bit more towards a kind of 'Folktronica'(!) in parts.
I received the Queen of Denmark album as an unexpected holiday gift. Amazon recommended it to me, but I had not ever heard his music until I listened to the album the first time. It is a new favorite, I listen to it nearly every day.
