Re: Monopoly Day 3
Mantis is not necessarily the Don. She views as town.
Re: Monopoly Day 3
How could I collaborate with mantis on day 1? I can't privately communicate with any other player. you're positing some sort of secret handshake.
I don't recall mantis being ahead of Jynx on day 1. I'll have to go back and check that. If she was, I probably would have unvoted, though, because by the end of the day, I thought Jynx and Mono looked more scummy than she did.

Fuck it. Feck is reading now. I"ll wait to see his take before I go to bed.

Re: Monopoly Day 3
I just reread the whole thread and am (fairly) sure that's what happened. They both had two votes - you asked who got two first, Mantis said she did. You unvoted and voted her mayor.

Ok. I'll buy it. I had to catch up on the thread late in the day because of access problems earlier. IIRC I posted about 2-3 pages worth of replies and questions before unvoting her and deciding not to add to Jynx's bandwagon.
Re: Monopoly Day 3
When I wake up I'm probably going to put a vote on Squid or Nelli, barring another major revelation of some sort. If Squid is the don, then the views of Charlou and mantis are gold. That might be the best information we can get out of this day.

Going to bed. Maybe Charlou is Don (or Squid) and Irre is with them. Then Feck could be with them too.

Re: Monopoly Day 3
I think Feck is town. He was all over the possibilities of how to use my night actions yesterday. And if he were scum, I don't think he would have said that bit about reversing my kill and view choices just before day 3 started.
Re: Monopoly Day 3
my extremely unreliable gut just mentioned that although Irre's posts look like a town meltdown, it could also be the reaction of a scum player as one promising FoS/vote after another evaporates via role claim.
I'm not sure what I think. It seemed genuine, but genuine *what*?

Re: Monopoly Day 3
I'm torn between the two as well. I know how I felt when confronted with what I thought was an unlikely scenario. I reacted in exactly the same way as Irre did.
Re: Monopoly Day 3
Need coffee and a little time to digest todays posts But I prettty much agree with OB and THAT worries me because I get paranoid and think I'm being led by the nose .
I have a sneaking suspicion that Charlou is the don or possibly Squid, Charlou for being very quiet and Squid for being very noisy .
Irre I'm tending to think of as scummy and Nelli too .
Personally it's easy to think of Nelli and Squid as scum because of the repeated fossing I have had from them most of the game, but that's not good play on my part .
that's my thoughts so far I will have a coffee and a longer think .

Re: Monopoly Day 3
I mentored someone in a game where an extremely unlikely scenario developed, and I believed that the bones of the scenario were bullshit going into endgame. It was correct in all particulars.
I don't know what I would have done if I had been playing. I have some ideas, but you don't really know until you're in it.
I also remember a game where we had 4 scum and 6 town at endgame. I was getting lynched, and I knew the only people reasoning with me and pretending to consider my arguments were scum, and that town wasn't paying any attention to what was going on. It was a horrible, frustrating day.

Re: Monopoly Day 3
MZ, your lack of saying anything about oblivion accounts for much of my reaction. Yes, yes, Occams and all that jazz, but the niggling feeling of being played is hard to quell.Magicziggy wrote:I'm torn between the two as well. IF I accept Occams then I think mantis and squid.
Damn this eating chocolate late at night, keeping me up. :sighsm:
Re: Monopoly Day 3
rereading the thread, this kinda stands out given the way so many players think at least some of what is going on is bullshit. Mantis seemed to easily buy my claims today, where even a player like Irre who was around for much of the night discussion is finding it all hard to swallow.Mantisdreamz wrote:what about the doc that protected her?
Re: Monopoly Day 3
I think that if I had been seer in this situation, I would have waited until after the deadline for night actions happened before leaving a clue, since we have night chat. that way, even if scum caught on that I was seer, they couldn't change their kill order.irretating wrote:MZ, your lack of saying anything about oblivion accounts for much of my reaction. I outed almost immediately after nightfall. I was worried that I would be the night kill - maybe a double night kill if there were a vig. I started the bandwagon on higgs2, and I had dropped a couple of huge tells that I knew something about the night kills. I didn't think I'd be alive to report on my view results as matters stood.
