Well, I thought you'd appreciate it for its... erm.... uniqueness, even if you didn't want to go straight out and buy a copy for all your friends. :D

That 'Queen of Denmark' CD is fab :D probably my favourite of the second half of last year in that 'alternative' genre (whatever that is). Funny, poignant, sad, joyous, angry, and with a real sense of honest drama. Reminded me of Elton John when he was good (which was a long, long time ago). A Close second would be Sufjan Stevens' 'Age of Adz' CD, which leans a bit more towards a kind of 'Folktronica'(!) in parts.

I like Stevens' older work very much - this is quite different. I'll have to give it more of a listen...

I've been catching up with it in the last few months - I like him a lot; a nice contrast to some of the hardcore-ish stuff I often find myself listening to. He still does that intimate acoustic thing on the latest CD - and he still seems to be travelling around recording all friends in their kitchens - but I think he's been spending more time with his computer too.

That's an ambitious project. Perhaps he's just girding his loins for a big push? ;)
