Now, when it is used to spread shit about Americans, it is all "we will find you and where you live and torture you in our secret prisons".A court in the United States has ordered popular micro-blogging website Twitter to hand over documents connected to WikiLeaks to the U.S. Justice Department, CNN reported Saturday.
The documents relate to WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and U.S. Army private Bradley Manning, who is under arrest on suspicion of leaking information to the whistleblowing website, the report said.
The order, issued by a district court in the U.S. state of Virginia, sought "subscriber names, user names, screen names, mailing addresses, residential addresses," CNN said.
Twitter has declined comment. WikiLeaks also said that it suspected other U.S. internet companies had been contacted by American officials as part of the investigation.
The US government has sharply criticized WikiLeaks for publishing the illegally obtained material. Officials have been examining possible charges against WikiLeaks and its staff following a series of spectacular leaks that have embarrassed officials and damaged Washington's image.
