Big Society Big Book

In a new year address recorded for the BBC, Dr Rowan Williams called on people of all faiths - or even none - to rediscover the King James Bible.

He said the edition still had the power to surprise and shock its readers, and provided a context for their lives.

This would be vital to a "big society", as envisaged by ministers, he added.

Either way, I'm still trying to work out how god created light before he created the sun and stars. :?

Monty Python's "Big Red Book" is way more inspiring.
It's a piece of piss to be cowiz, but it's not cowiz to be a piece of piss. Or something like that.

LOL Silly git. How does reading book of fairy stories provide a "bigger picture"? It only provides a smaller picture, it seems to me. Perhaps if the good Doctor (doctor of what, I wonder? asshattery?) were to extricate his head from his rectum, he might see a genuine bigger picture.

Thought this was odd, from the article:
'Story of universe'

Four hundred years on, its version of "the story of the whole universe" could feel "quite remote", the primate acknowledged.

"You may be the sort of person who feels you can make sense of your own story in your own terms," he said.

Primate? :what:
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

What does "big society" mean? I've been hearing it a lot lately but I haven't got a clue. :ask:
[Disclaimer - if this is comes across like I think I know what I'm talking about, I want to make it clear that I don't. I'm just trying to get my thoughts down]

Its David Cameron's big wheeze. They won't spend any money on public services, so we all have to help each other, volunteer and stuff. Oh - and we have to celebrate 'giving' apparently. Here, if you can stand reading it:-

Just dug this nasty bit off dirt on Dawkins apparent love affair with The King James Edition. How anyone can get a hard-on over a book without pictures? :dunno:
