No human being on the face of the earth, no government is going to take from me my right to speak, my right to protest against wrong, my right to do everything that is for the benefit of mankind. I am not here, then, as the accused; I am here as the accuser of capitalism dripping with blood from head to foot.”

I think they just have. I look at it this way: Even a blind chook will find a corn. Normality will resume soon enough.

Before crumbling as a result of their own incompetence.

Well done chaps.
England got lucky. We got lucky in that we had a glut of talent to pick from and an exceptional selection and training regime in place (exceptional for England at any rate.) There was belief and passion in that squad. Even the set-back of Perth didn't phase them as this latest result shows. They wrote it off as a blip and made sure to try harder in the next match.
Australia came across as ill-prepared and lacking in young talent to replace the aging old guard. Hussey was a star but he couldn't bolster them alone. Ponting was out of form, out of sorts and completely out of confidence - not what you need from a captain.
I have no doubt that the pendulum will swing back towards the Aussies at some point. I have a feeling that it could be quite a few ashes series before that happens though.

The British Colonial Empire was not dissolved voluntarily. Britain lost it despite its best efforts to hang on to it. Look at India, for example.

That's one game I'm glad we lost.

Hussey for captain?

So. England have retained the ashes but would dearly love to win the series. Can they finish the job?
Bearing in mind that they only need a draw for a series win and the weather looks a bit iffy and the Aussies are hardly setting the pitch alight with their performance this far (120/3 in 53 overs is not a convincing winning pace) I think this match has draw written all over it.
