I'm an atheist. I don't believe in years.
A book is a version of the world. If you do not like it, ignore it; or offer your own version in return.

Numbering years is patriarchal and oppressive. I think we should go with whatever year we feel it is.

What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

The atheist calendar should be split into those who believe it should have a fixed beginning and those who do not?

Wasn't there a year zero in the 1970's by some atheist who obviously killed in the name of atheism like the theist are always pointing out ad nauseum.
We should be MOST skeptical of ideas we like because we are sufficiently skeptical of ideas that we don't like. Penn Jillette.
