Marx Reloaded

Wow...this is going to be great. If anyone of you haven't read or listened to any Slavoj Zizek, do yourself a favor and get on that! The best political philosopher going today!

Our struggle is not against actual corrupt individuals, but against those in power in general, against their authority, against the global order and the ideological mystification which sustains it.

It wasn't as good as the first one though not nearly as bad as the abysmal, Revolutions.
Libertarianism: The belief that out of all the terrible things governments can do, helping people is the absolute worst.

I lol'd.
"The fact is that far more crime and child abuse has been committed by zealots in the name of God, Jesus and Mohammed than has ever been committed in the name of Satan. Many people don't like that statement but few can argue with it."

Why not dump the personality of Marx and revise the ideas to better fit the accumulated data?
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

Because the name carries to much baggage.

such as? Not sure what you mean, I took Marxist theory classes in university and there was never any hint of "baggage" with Marx's work.

At the university maybe not, but among the working proles there is.

When people hear Marx, they immediately think of the the USSR and the Eastern Bloc, China, DPRK... At least in the US they do.

By reasonable association they do.

So where has it worked out then? Marxism and human nature are inherently incompatible
Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.
