So how did the Merkins manage to kill of the dinosaurs? And Hansel and Gretel, they were nearly taken down by a Merkin agent, yes?
Let's not forget about those earthquakes in Iran and that volcano eruption in Iceland that our satellites have been causing.

It's amazing to see some of the paranoia around this case. Of all the things the US or UK might try to do if it were inclined to fight back against Assange, the "double-honeytrap" theory seems to be the most asinine. Naturally, there's at least one person here who buys into it as the most likely scenario...

Given American history, it IS the most likely scenario. Or have you forgotten about Vietnam, the Iranian Revolution, or Iraq?

Well, given that the Americans are trying to charge Assange with conspiracy of spying, this is ironic.

lol srsly though: Borgstrom only intervened when the senior prosecutor in Stockholm dismissed the case as being based on "no evidence"; James Catlin, an Australian barrister who acted on Assange's behalf in October, has said that both women told prosecutors that they consented to having sex with Assange; following the alleged rape, one of the two threw Assange a party; when Borgstrom was asked why he was representing both women despite the fact they had admitted to consenting to sex, he said it was because "they are not lawyers" and it took three months for the Swedes to provide Assange's lawyers with their case against (even then it was provided in Swedish, which contravenes EU law). It's not as clear cut as either side claims, though. Let the case run it's course I say.

However, I do strongly object to the media's (and Borgstrom's) apparent need to make this about feminism. Media feminists such as Libby Brooks have abused Wikileaks and Assange supporters as being part of the "Wikiblokesphere" in publications ranging from the Guardian to even the left-wing New Statesman, with the Guardian publishing Amelia Gentleman's drawn out interview with Borgstrom - described primarily as a "highly respected Swedish lawyer" when in fact he is foremost a politician, which it would do everybody a world of good to remember - which also included an 'anonymous' statement from a source claiming that Assange's "behaviour towards women...was going to get him into trouble"; note firstly the ellipsis, and also the thinly veiled moved to make this about womanisation rather than rape allegations. Brooks even claims that several authors on "the left" are as misogynistic as she and her chums have tried to paint Assange as. In the apt words of Naomi Klein, "Rape is being used in the Assange prosecution in the same way that women's freedom was used to invade Afghanistan."
When I feel sad, I stop being sad and be awesome instead.
True story.
SUIT UP!
"Dear God, dear Lord, dear vague muscular man with a beard or a sword,
Dear good all seeing being; my way or the highway Yahweh,
The blue-balled anti-masturbator, the great all-loving faggot-hater
I thank your holy might, for making me both rich and white"

Actually, that does makes sense! Although not the way you think it does.

The Justice Dept. is looking into whether they even have a case, i.e. if there's proof that Wikileaks solicited the information from Private Manning before they actually received it. If they have or get the proof, why would they want a sex crime offense in Sweden getting in the way of it? It would interfere with extradition to the US. And yet the loony fringe out there is saying that the US must have set a honeytrap (that word was used by Wikileaks, I didn't invent it!) not once but twice, or else is somehow putting pressure on Swedish judges to get Assange sent to a Swedish jail for a couple years. The paranoid conspiracy nuts (i.e. you) don't seem to realize the contradiction.

Obviously, you are not involved with operations. You always need a Plan A and a Plan B.
