Is it unusual to have a 'scum team' (in this case, the cult) that cannot kill anyone?

cults usually can't kill. there was the potential for this cult to have a kill ability if either higgs or callan had been recruited and mantis were still alive.

I'm not sure that would have been a good idea. kinda glad it didn't happen.

I have seen some cult variations where the cult leader could recruit or kill, but the number of recruitments were restricted in those game designs.

I think they should both be confined to 8 words per post for the next game.

Higgs & callan played really well, so did MZ. I was surprised people didn't lynch gib on day 3. His change in behavior was a definite tell. I was going to go after him for that, but go killed before i had the chance
I was still town on day 3 so you got that wrong.

while the main seer (zig) lived, charlou couldn't post in words, except for a vote. the posting restriction would be lifted if she were recruited or zigmen died. both happened on he same night.

she knew she was backup seer at the beginning of the game, and knew the posting restriction would be lifted if she were activated.
Great game Oblivion, even though I only lasted 24 hours.

What was Callan's restriction on day 3?
It was a bit of a fuckup.

If MZ's protections were needed, the player he protected would be able to make posts of up to 8 words long. If he actually saved a player twice, another (random) player would die in their stead. When I saw Callan's first posts in the day 5 game I freaked and checked my sent PMs. I'd never actually sent the PM. So, I sent her a note at that point and let her know. She wouldn't be able to volunteer about the posting restriction, but if someone commented, she could explain.

MZ didn't know exactly how it would work. I got a kick out of it when he revealed that he thought he was indirectly responsible for Feck's death.

Wow, great game. gg scum/indies. Callan you definitely get MVP (for town). I think that's the first time I've played sk. I started out by take the advice of a mentor of a mentor, that it's almost impossible to win as sk, so have fun and create and much wifom and confusion as possible. So that's what I tried to do (sorry feck). But then I got those blocks, so I decided to pass a kill to make it even more weird. I was p. sure irre, UT and charlou were scum but I didnt' want them taken out too quickly because I didn't want town to win right away. I figured Callan as vig, tried to take her out but I guess MZ protected her. Thought that might be fun to have no kills for a bit hahaha! Then it seemed to look like I had a slim chance to actually be last man standing, but killing gib was the wrong choice, ind of sealed my fate, should have killed Callan.

Thanks for the game all, gg Raven, you did a great job setting it up and the flavor was fun. You were fair and evenhanded, didn't interfere with the game play, it was a great example of running a mafia game.

So MZ's role, what was that about someone ing if he protected someone else? That clearly was not the case, did you make it up from the flavor? Callan you really did well. I was hoping I could talk you into voting MZ, I had some ideas, but I was asleep. AndI don't knowif I could have talked you out of nk'ing after MZ flipped town.

Fwiw, I did try to leave hint that I had viewed UT as Town on day 1, but nobody caught it . . .

Good job, Town!

about why you would need to keep quiet about a posting restriction that didn't get sent to you i guess

If you have a look through Day 5, you'll see that when it began, I was posting normally. Then I went to bed, and in the morning I had a PM from Oblivion saying she'd forgotten to tell me I had a posting restriction today, and that all my posts from then onwards had to be of less than 8 words, with no concurrent posts - had to wait for someone else to post in between mine. She said the posts I'd already made that day wouldn't count against me since I hadn't known about the restriction then.
You can see the difference very clearly!
I could admit to it if challenged, but couldn't point it out unless someone asked what was up.
