The religious rules came later when people had already worked out fucking your close relations was a bad idea
Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.

It used to annoy me, explaining the bleed'n obvious to you, but now I quite enjoy it. I think Woody Allen should have been locked up. If you accept a child as a step-child, it should be classed as incest, because you are betraying a responsibility you took on as a parent.
You can make a case for excusing the younger partner, as growing up is a confusing time, but the elder one has no excuse. All you have to do is say no.
.
Second, she was 21, she was "legal" since whatever age she would have to be in that state, so why the double-standard? The younger party is not automatically the innocent one in these cases.
So, first point: He's been arrested. Doesn't that give a hint that it might be illegal?
Second point. Did you quote my post, without reading it? I said I would lock em both up, but the elder partner is more to blame, as they have the responsibility to protect and guide an offspring, and that lasts a lifetime.

You keep saying lock them up yet fail to substantiate what they should be locked up for.

Both are well over the arbitrary age of consent in the US, so however repulsive this relationship may be personally, what does it have to do with anyone else, or the state? If it's not consensual, that's another matter.
Although it may look like a forum, this site is actually a crowd-sourced science project modelling the slow but inexorable heat death of the universe.

And without religious edicts, highly hypocritical edicts, why is it a crime between two people in the age of consent?mistermack wrote:Incest.ScienceRob wrote:You keep saying lock them up yet fail to substantiate what they should be locked up for.

Lots of things are illegal, that we, at least based on the response from many here, would all agree should not be crimes.mistermack wrote:Incest.ScienceRob wrote:You keep saying lock them up yet fail to substantiate what they should be locked up for.
Granted, we are all immoral atheists.

I just finished watching Tuck Everlasting five minutes ago - I think it's a good atheist themed movie, I recommend it.Gawdzilla wrote:maiforpeace wrote:Lots of things are illegal, that we, at least based on the response from many here, would all agree should not be crimes.mistermack wrote:Incest.ScienceRob wrote:You keep saying lock them up yet fail to substantiate what they should be locked up for.
