Yeah... that's great.
Maybe you'd like to see the US attacked by way of the destruction of a dam, or a chlorine plant, or see major utilities corrupted. I suspect you would, because you're the type who doesn't seem to differentiate between a country and its citizens. Your first reaction was to say haha and call it a good thing. Like I said - try telling my 5-yr old daughter why the release of that list is "great".
I refer you to my earlier post calling you a wannabe sociopath.
EDIT: suppose it was a list of facilities crucial to Canadian health and security, including infrastructure near where you live? Would that be "great"? Would you whine about "freedom of information" then? Boring and pathetic dude.

Don't deflect, we'd like to know.
And is this before or after you murder contrary journalists?

To be serious though, if the US wants to stop threats or acts of terrorism than the release or secrecy of a document isn't the issue. Foreign policy is the issue. This is clear.
Our struggle is not against actual corrupt individuals, but against those in power in general, against their authority, against the global order and the ideological mystification which sustains it.

Partially, yes. But what foreign policy would've stopped 9/11? The US putting sanctions on Israel? The hijackers had no personal experience of repression at the hands of the US.
What would have stopped the nerve gas attack in Tokyo by that cult a few years back? Nothing, but handing other like them a list of good targets doesn't do anyone any good.

The Hijackers were wealthy, well-educated, fundamentalist Muslims.
The problem there was Islam.

A lot of things could have happened to stop 9/11. I mean, just take a glance at the US history in the middle east. Not to mention the enormous financial/military funding of Israel. A lot could have been done precious to 2001. Not only in the middle east, but around the globe. The targets that were hit were no coincidence. The economic (trade center), military (pentagon), and government (white house) apparatuses of the US, the military industrial complex in essence. This was not simply an islamic religious attack as it is portrayed by some. I do not think that the US "deserved" to be attacked, but it was not an unprovoked attack. A country can only mess around with so many other countries policies, not to mention bomb, occupy, set up military bases, skew the economies, torture etc before it gets hit back. A bully generally doesn't wind up unscathed. Live by the sword, die by the sword. This isn't to say that religion didn't play a part, of course it did (for Zilla), religion also played a part in the invasion and occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan, but it is not the sole reason. As for the Tokyo attack, I really don't know enough about it to comment.

If wikileaks is all about transparency, why are they so secretive?

Because the big, bad, all-powerful, Americans are out to get them.
Or it might be a good way to sell newspapers.

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

What sword did the people working in the world trade centre live by?
The dangerous and violent struggle to earn a wage?

In the first instance they are hypocrites. In the second they're market tools.
Doesn't look too good for them eh?

Like I said, I'm not saying the people "deserved it" but it was symbolic. The trade center symbolized the economic imperialism of the US. Read some John Perkins ( a good primer)if you want to better understand, not the symbolism of the attacks themselves, but the reality of economic imperialism, mixed, of course (for Zilla) with the military and government. The military industrial complex.

The US hardly makes money off of its military endeavours. Most of the money in the US comes from making its own people ridiculously unhealthy and dependant on consumer products.

Well option 3 is that he's some sort of sociopath who thinks releasing stolen information that may lead to an increased loss of life makes him big and clever.
But that sort of person would probably have other criminal tendencies too.
