Re: Carnivale - Day 2
For yesterday's lack of input, despite having time to read the thread, and for posting in the PG today but not in the game, I'm going with vote Morticia.

Vanilla town or vanilla scum?Magicziggy wrote:There are different interpretations.mononoke wrote:I think he was working for scum in some way or the other.
Here's mine:
Mantis was an enabler first and foremost. The simplest explanation is that she enabled the traitor. Now gone, the traitor is vanilla town.
The traitor MUST be a bona-fide member of the scum team, in order to have any info to leak to town. Knowledge is pretty essential to being a traitor - if you don't know anything, you can't betray anything!
We gather that Mantis had to be alive in order for the traitor to perform their pro-town duties.
Mantis is dead, therefore the traitor is no longer a traitor - they revert to vanilla membership of the scum team.
I think we still have as many scum on our hands as we started with.
And having no better candidate to offer, I'm content to join the concensus about Morticia.

Re: Carnivale - Day 2
It isn't my intention to add to the confusion, but some consensus of Mantis' role may give us a better understanding.
This is my latest interpretation:
Traitorous to me implies that she views as town but wins with scum.
She was an indie that would have won if scum had won.
Her role enabled one of the scum team roles.
Perhaps the scum role blocker was "enabled" by Mantis.
Mono could have been blocked by a town role blocker. I think the implications are that scum could now be without a blocker, but their original number intact.

Re: Carnivale - Day 2
Sounds plausible MZ .. Anyone else have any ideas?
The previous game where there were both a town and a scum role blocker, iirc both were described as amorous (or similar - don't recall the exact words)? The difference there was that the scum blocker also left scratch marks .. not that that necessarily applies here .. The main point I'm trying to make is that it's possible mono's blocker was amorous and town.Magicziggy wrote:Mono could have been blocked by a town role blocker.

Callan i think your interpretation is wrong.
Mantis didn't enable the traitor. from what Ob has written he was traitor & enabler or a role somewhere in the middleOB wrote:Mantisdreamz - traitor/enabler
Re: Carnivale - Day 2
It said Mantis was an "enabler". I think she had a role where she could recruit people. I have reason to believe, given my role, that there are recruiters.

Your quote there is from the OP of this day 2 thread. Here's what oblivion posted in the final post of the day 1 thread:mononoke wrote:Callan i think your interpretation is wrong.Mantis didn't enable the traitor. from what Ob has written he was traitor & enabler or a role somewhere in the middleOB wrote:Mantisdreamz - traitor/enabler
Different wording .. would like some clarity on that .. oblivion?oblivion wrote:mantisdreamz was Iris Crowe and was a traitorous enabler.

the top one says he was traitor plus enabler. the bottom one says he was an enabler who also happened to be traitorous. they read the same to meCharlou wrote:Your quote there is from the OP of this day 2 thread. Well, as my only other candidate was YOU, Mono, maybe you'll be happier if I leave my vote where it is for now?mononoke wrote:Really callan, is it that easy to hop on the band wagon.Callan wrote: And having no better candidate to offer, I'm content to join the concensus about Morticia.

Yesterday, just before the lynch, there were no fewer than 4 people FoSsing you - Gib, Denny, UT and Squid.
On p14 of the Day One thread, you informed Squid that there must be 3 scum. Your confidence is interesting. Or are you trying to muddy the waters?
And also on p14, you divested yourself of the mighty statement "Mantis doesn't seem scummy to me." Well, she did to a whole lot of other folk, and gosh, look, she flipped as a traitor.
I'm above revenge voting, so I won't swap to you just because you've voted for me.
But your poorly-reasoned vote has confirmed my suspicions about you, and if enough people agree, I'll swap without hesitation.

Re: Carnivale - Day 2
What do you want me to explain? Oblivion's description of Mantis wasn't clear about whether or not (s)he was scum, turns out it's even more confusing than that. If you're talking about the PM question, I got a little description of what I was doing on night0 at the start of the game that turned out not to come into the game at all and was wondering if I would get something else last night telling me what I was supposed to have been doing, If I'm allowed to post the PM here I will (only if Oblivion says it's ok though)irretating wrote:higgs, that's a strange response to the OP... isn't it far more likely our vig killed our seer?
Oh.. and squid.. you have some explaining to do with your post in the PG...
The Curious Squid wrote:Do we get another PM with a description of what happens at night like we did with night 0?
I take it from the description that Mantis was scum as well?
I've reread a lot of the Day 1 thread since Charlou has started typing and possibly fucked up again, if she can't explain this then my suspicions are back with her again
There are a few ways of looking at this, either you forgot you said it didn't end after day 1 automatically and have just fucked up.Charlou wrote:gib wrote:Does it automatically end after day 1?![]()
gib wrote:Is there another way the restriction can be lifted?
Or you're claiming that the condition to remove it has been met, if the condition was something to do with Mantis' "enabler" role and the person putting the restriction on you no longer has the power to do so then why didn't you mention that instead of just going straight into the conversation again as if it was just a day 1 restriction?
Another possibility is that Zigmen's seer role was somehow blocking you, I don't see how that could happen.
Care to comment?
The other thing that stood out from rereading day 1 is that Gib seems to be town to me and Mono's actions towards him seem scummish.
Lastly, I want to see how Ghat reacts today, the only reason he didn't get my vote yesterday is because he may have needed to get lynched on day 1 to win, unless something quite radical happens today my vote stays with him

For the record, although I'm keeping my vote on Ghat for now, I also think Mono is scum, maybe even the person that Mantis was enablingCallan wrote:Well, as my only other candidate was YOU, Mono, maybe you'll be happier if I leave my vote where it is for now?mononoke wrote:Really callan, is it that easy to hop on the band wagon.Callan wrote: And having no better candidate to offer, I'm content to join the concensus about Morticia.

are you seriously thinking that a threat is going to get you anywhere.
3 scum is the traditional number of scum for a 15-16 person game over here. that was an obvious answer. Although ani thinks there are recruiters in this game which makes me reconsider.
mantis certainly didn't look scummy to me. It's not like he said anything scummy, bandwagon was mostly lucky. It's pretty rare to actually nail someone as scum because of post count & content on the first day. And besides, I could have jolly well jumped on his band wagon somewhere in the middle, or at the very end. i didn't jump on because i didn't think he was scum.
And my vote today isn't poorly reasoned. It's pretty well reasoned, you hopped on a band wagon claiming I'll join the consensus. That's scummy callan, because scum just love to ride the wave. And this response of yours doesn't make you look more town.

Re: Carnivale - Day 2
I've just reread the PM I got yesterday and realised that it's the same thing Mono is talking aboutmononoke wrote:Basically i was visited by an amorous visitor. So that's either the scum or town blocker, probably not the seer.Uselesstwit wrote:what did the pm say mono?
"Last night you had a delightfully amourous and skilled visitor who kept you...um...up all night. You were too busy to sleep, much less go wandering about the carnivale grounds."
I didn't realise this was a specific PM to me and that not everyone had similar descriptions, what does it mean that I got it yesterday and Mono has it today?
