Of course, the bombings in Afghanistan are intended to provoke a sate of terror IN THE ENEMY, but not the general populace, not the civilians. Generally speaking, my statement is true. It's the rare case where it is not true. That's especially true over the last 10 years, where the ability and desire to be careful is far greater than it was in, say, WW2. When we firebombed cities like Dresden. However, that was a war against probably the greatest military machine the world had ever seen, one that took the combined effort of the United State, Soviet Union, and Great Britain, among others, to defeat with full mobilization by all concerned.

Hijacking airliners and flying them into the world trade center buildings was terrorism, bombing Dresden in WW2 was not. If you had to make your best effort to defend that proposition - what would you say? What's your best argument for that proposition? I'll grant you that you don't agree with it - I'll grant that you oppose it. Just humor me - give your best Devil's Advocate argument in favor of it.
