Is this worth reading? If so, where does one start?

Yes. I would read them in order. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discworld#Bibliography

Thanks, PZ mentioned him here, which was about the proverbial straw to my resistance camel.

I would recommend any of, Small Gods, Equal Rites, Mort, Guards! Guards!, and Going Postal, as good places to start.

But take your pick!

I was rereading The Light Fantastic last week when SOMEBODY invaded the book and made things... weird for me.
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

The stories are self-contained enough that reading them in order isn't terribly important. Just read them. :)

Oh, and while you're at it, Good Omens by Pratchett and Neil Gaiman is also a good read!

One was probably Wyrd Sisters. I read a couple of the Death books, charming character. Plus charming daughter.

You might quite like the military theme in Monstrous Regiment too, Zilla. But like most people say, any order will do pretty much.
