Have a safe trip, UT!
Re: Simpsons Day 3
I think it was on day 2 that I said the scum team would have to be seriously revved up if these items and Irre's ability to recognize them were really clearing town players.
Scum *is* pretty revved up. I've never seen a game with a scum bomb. scum was guaranteed an extra non-scum kill whenever ani died.
It's really fortunate it happened sooner rather than later, too. closer to endgame the effect could have been a lot worse on the numbers.
IMO, today's results shine a favorable light on the possibility that Irre is town after all, not indie.
But, I still don't get why she thought Ani was town. That's the bit that bothers me. She did what I would have done if I had known Ani was a bomb - she stayed completely clear of that bandwagon.

Re: Simpsons Day 3
I didn't 'stay clear'. I chose early on to go after DP, which I will be doing tomorrow because I think he's the last scum. As the bandwagon built up on ani, there was no need for me to sandbag on (which is what a scum would want to do to hide amongst the townies).oblivion wrote:I think it was on day 2 that I said the scum team would have to be seriously revved up if these items and Irre's ability to recognize them were really clearing town players.

Just because UT keeps saying I could be indie, doesn't make me so. I'm pretty happy with my game thus far. Notice no-one has gone after charlou or mantis since I cleared them. They were both at risk of being lynched.
I figure I was given info to fit my Ned Flanders role, and to offset the scum capabilities.
Oblivion, with your game-balancing skills, what is the likely scum contingent left? A don? Vanilla scum?
Re: Simpsons Day 3
it's also good that denny got killed. he was looking suss to many people. this way we have lesser suspects.
also, i think there r two scum left

I don't know how to balance your role if you are town. We don't know if everyone with items is really town and I still don't know exactly how your role is meant to work.irretating wrote:I didn't 'stay clear'. There is also a bus driver to balance, though that role can have very mixed effects if the bus driver zigs when a killer zags.
It doesnt matter whether the last scum is a don or not, but I'm guessing don. I'm also wondering if one of the town players is a miller. Town needed a couple of gotchas to make up for potentially 5 town players cleared so early in the game.
1 or 2 scum, 1 SK?
A more vanilla set up with 18 players would have 4 scum max.
Re: Simpsons Day 3
If we accept that irre is town, we must accept her word that her PM said the people she was after would be townspeople .. irre has mentioned this part of her PM a couple of times, now.oblivion wrote:I don't know how to balance your role if you are town. Re: Simpsons Day 3
Which brings me to irre's "cat out of the bag" comment .. which I took as meaning there's one more person she could clear if they speak up about their particular thing she's looking for. Is that the case, irre?

Re: Simpsons Day 3
Or is it possible that person's among the already dead town members ... ?

Why not?irretating wrote:BTW I have said I can't clear any more players.

Re: Simpsons Day 3
The three things specifically listed in my PM belonged to you, MZ and mantis. My comment was a figure of speech, meaning that anyone could claim to have an item and thus be town, after a while.Charlou wrote:Which brings me to irre's "cat out of the bag" comment .. which I took as meaning there's one more person she could clear if they speak up about their particular thing she's looking for. Hence, I can't clear anyone else, unless zigmen gives me more info.
Am I alone in thinking DP is the scum?
Re: Simpsons Day 3
OK oblivion i'm going to take a leap of faith and buy that you're playing your town game, although why we should think your scum game and town game would look different to from the outside is a mystery to me.
My vote on you last night was like a Pascal's wager - if you're scum then you're masterminding this arse-raping and you had to go. if you're town then i felt you weren't helping much anyway.
But like i say, i've had a rethink - Ani co-voting with me was enough.
tbh if this IS your scum game you almost deserve to win.
btw btw been playing some RL mafia the last 2 days. As some of you know we scratch a living by running a little shop. Found that a memeber of staff had been taking wine from the shelves and drinking it out in the stock room (we found the empties hidden in the trash). Narrowed it down to 2 people, had to clear one and 'lynch' the other. This morning we finally found the perp in the act on the cctv footage, now thinking about how to send a message to any other potential scum that want to steal from my family. All very exciting.
All this means i had to skim read through the day and only really got into things late at night, by which time i was on the beer n herb. Hope to get back into the game more today.

I guess the fact that Ani was obsessed with getting me lynched has no cleared me in the minds of my doubters?
