A neighbor had a really loud car stereo that he refused to turn down when he sat in the drive-way when I lived in San Diego. That stopped when he found a bundle of flares and an alarm clock taped to the hood of his car one morning.

They have every right to say what they say. Thtis is America after all. And the courts have consistently held up their First Amendment rights.

I don't think they have collected any damages...I think at most they have been rewarded attorney fees for when they have been taken to court and won.

TOPEKA, Kan. -- A controversial Kansas church is changing its protest plan after an incident in Oklahoma last week.

Members of the Westboro Baptist Church said they want revenge after someone slashed the tires on their van during visit to protest a military funeral in McAlester. The group said it plans to now target funerals for Oklahoma children.

I am completely at a lose for words......

Stepping back for a moment, one has to say that this is excellent news tactically. Backed into a corner by the use of violence and the refusal of an entire community to help afterwards, these beasts have been forced to up the ante. Only in their case the ante is to be even more outrageously disgusting.

Let them act on this. They will only need to do it once for violence against them to really break out. They then have a choice of trying to keep acting the victim, which will bring them no sympathy, or responding in kind, which will show them up even more as it will be portrayed in the media.

Either way, they are now exposing themsleves to genuine danger, against which they will find little help. They do not have the privelege of anonymous acts of violence. Those they face (who number millions) do.
