Stupid ruling .. They wave their banners about and shout hateful slogans so it's automatically given cred as a protest? It's not a fucking protest, it's harrassment. What is there to protest about at a funeral? That the person/people are dead?

FFS. :nono:

Is there no recourse to consider this harrassment/psychological assault, and issuing a restraining order?

Maybe in a sane country, but this is America home of free speech no matter what the cost. :nono:
I'm wild just like a rock, a stone, a tree
And I'm free, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I flow, just like a brook, a stream, the rain
And I fly, just like a bird up in the sky
And I'll surely die, just like a flower plucked
And dragged away and thrown away
And then one day it turns to clay
It blows away, it finds a ray, it finds its way
And there it lays until the rain and sun
Then I breathe, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I grow, just like a baby breastfeeding
And it's beautiful, that's life

Essentially there is a restraining order of sorts in place already...they need to stay 1000 ft away. :dunno:

What needs to happen if they protest is something similar to this:

Clowns Kick KKK Asses
Here’s an excellent example of pwnage: when the white supremacist group VNN Vanguard Nazi/KKK tried to host a hate rally in Knoxville, Tennessee, they were foiled by … clowns!

Unfortunately for [VNN] the 100th ARA (Anti Racist Action) clown block came and handed them their asses by making them appear like the asses they were.

Alex Linder the founder of VNN and the lead organizer of the rally kicked off events by rushing the clowns in a fit of rage, and was promptly arrested by 4 Knoxville police officers who dropped him to the ground when he resisted and dragged him off past the red shiny shoes of the clowns. http://www.volunteertv.com/home/headlines/7704982.html

“White Power!” the Nazi’s shouted, “White Flour?” the clowns yelled back running in circles throwing flour in the air and raising separate letters which spelt “White Flour”.

“White Power!” the Nazi’s angrily shouted once more, “White flowers?” the clowns cheers and threw white flowers in the air and danced about merrily.

“White Power!” the Nazi’s tried once again in a doomed and somewhat funny attempt to clarify their message, “ohhhhhh!” the clowns yelled “Tight Shower!” and held a solar shower in the air and all tried to crowd under to get clean as per the Klan’s directions.

At this point several of the Nazi’s and Klan members began clutching their hearts as if they were about to have a heart attack. Their beady eyes bulged, and the veins in their tiny narrow foreheads beat in rage. One last time they screamed “White Power!”

The clown women thought they finally understood what the Klan was trying to say. “Ohhhhh…” the women clowns said. “Now we understand…”, “WIFE POWER!” they lifted the letters up in the air, grabbed the nearest male clowns and lifted them in their arms and ran about merrily chanting “WIFE POWER! WIFE POWER! WIFE POWER!”

There was a military funeral one town away from me about a week ago. The Westboro Bapist Church sent some protesters there (or do they all show up at once? I dunno.). To be honest, I was kinda impressed that they came all the way to Maryland for one of their little events. But I hear they're curiously well-funded.

Anyway, their presence was known beforehand. My wife's best friend was one of the thousand or so counter-protesters, including the Patriot Guard Riders, who showed up and blocked the WBC loons from getting anywhere near the funeral home or the cemetary or the route in between. Worked like a charm.

That is what ought to be done with them. Just let people know they're coming; media attention before the event.

Of course, if somebody were to take a Barret 50-cal sniper rifle and blow a few of their heads apart like watermelons from a safe distance, that'd work fine with me too.

Maybe erect a high wall of inward facing mirrors around the abusers?

Nothing like that is appropriate at a child's funeral. :( But what other choice is there, if they are allowed to proceed with their protest?

WBC also has security that travels with them, that is probably why nothing has happened yet.

But, on the other hand .. Picture a funeral in a country that allows fuckwits like the westbro faptists to "protest" ( yahright Image) .. The grieving party is incredibly vulnerable and perhaps wondering why someone isn't doing something about the fuckwits harassment ... versus ... Funeral .. Fuckwits .. and hearty counter "protesters" giving the fuckwits what for in no uncertain terms ... Would the latter engender a sense of empathic solidarity between the counter "protesters" and the grieving party .. and would it help to counter any damage the fuckwits inflict?

:? How the hell do they pay for that? And driving around and harassing people?

Where do they get their money from? Are people sick enough to actually donate to them?

So many questions, so much bile.
