I'm not surprised, Chinaski - similar happened to me a few years back. You're actually supposed to apply DURING THE SUMMER - like around July or something. There's a hell of a stampede around August/September for them, and it is the case that sometimes you'll be hanging around till November waiting for confirmation. Maybe particularly if you're not a UK resident.

On the bright side, aside from the tuition fees - you'll be paid anything you're due in student loans or bursaries backdated. That is, you'll get a lump sum of the money you've been waiting for over the past two months.
