If you're presiding over a universe with 10^22 stars why would the doings of a mad man on a planet of one of those stars really be high on your list of priorities? I would think trying to sequence 20 amino acids into a string of 120, the odds of which are one in 10^150, which is more than the number of atoms in our universe multiplied by the number of nanoseconds.

So ... um ... this god character is running the universe, and doesn't give two hoots about what any particular person is doing on Earth... In that case, why care?
Meanwhile, the second sentence doesn't go anywhere, so I'm not sure what point is being attempted. Unless you're saying that your god character sequences amino acids as a hobby, but doesn't care much for what happens afterwards.

No, what would help would be for you to produce some evidence. You see, first we start with observation of phenomena, then we proceed with necessary inference based on the observation. Without the initial observation of evidence, we could speculate endlessly and build elaborate rational structures about the number of angels that could dance on the head of a pin, you see. A first-year student of Logic 101 learns that it's possible to build a valid argument with conclusions that are patently, demonstrably false in the real world. Let me know if you want examples.

I'm enjoying this. FBM is on fine form. I never knew he had a brain. Where's he been hiding it all this time, that's the bigger question?
It's a piece of piss to be cowiz, but it's not cowiz to be a piece of piss. Or something like that.

He's always had a big brain in that big head. Unfortunately, the little head is de facto in charge most of the time.

As TA said. Why care? Why should we pray? Why should we hate fags? Why should we fly planes into buildings? Why should we headbutt a wall? Why should we throw a virgin into a volcano?
(your) God doesn't care! What you are describing is a god not of any scripture. We've all been doing it wrong?
What, exactly, are you going to convert people to? Atheists can now believe in a god, but they needn't have to pray or worship etc, just carry on as normal?
If so, what's the point?
I run with scissors. It makes me feel dangerous

Spinoza99 has done what all thinking (lol) religionistas have done throughout the ages.
he's looked at existing gods / religions and realised they don't make enough sense (they can't evolve quickly enough to cope with facts - hamstrung by their followers)..........and then he's created a god that does make sense to him.
Some then help revise an existing religion (by adding bits that founders forgot to mention - for some mysterious reason) and others go on to form their own religion around there version of a god.
I wonder which Spinoza99 will do?

Whether or not the designer of the universe hears human prayers is not something I want to speculate on.
As for why care? Well, do you care about holding false beliefs? Why hold a false belief when you can hold a true one?
Your questions seem to be more concerned with ethics than with metaphysics.

Any belief can be backed if you're to demand no more cogency of them than that displayed by all the silly religions that have had divine revelations... Why hold a false belief when you can hold a true one? Well, which God do you subscribe to, and why is it truer than the other?
It just opens a can of worms, allows people to rationalise whatever they want.

Do
you care about holding false beliefs? I do care which is why I base my world view on rational thought as I've come to the conclusion that it gives the most consistent answers backed up by the facts.
What do you base your concept of a Deity on? Is it a holy book? If not where do you get your facts about this creator?
Could you please list the attributes of your deity for me if you don't mind? You've already said it is limited in power, what about knowledge or interest in the human race. How limited in power is it exactly?
Also I don't believe we've met before, welcome to the forum

Eriku, I'm still waiting for you to reply to the post I made on the other thread.
As for the answer to your statement, I explained why in an 11000 word paper. If you would quote from it and show me where I have erred it would be much appreciated.
