Oh, and "daily" is not "excessive." LOL Now, if you're going through a bar of soap a day and scraping your skin...sure.

My powers of deduction lead me to believe that you are British...or, maybe French....Ian wrote:What is this "bathing" thing you all speak of?

41% of British men and 33% of women don’t shower every day.

30 years ago, people used to bath once a week and wash their hands and face every morning. It's only the marketing scam "B.O." that got everyone concerned about how they smell. Showering every day with soap is actually bad for your skin. Why do you think it's so bad that some people don't shower every day?

Yep. There is zero evidence that showering every day is bad for you.Pappa wrote:Is it?Coito ergo sum wrote:It's a myth that showering every day is bad for you.Pappa wrote:I shower every day now, mostly because I've got used to it and can't wake up properly if I don't.... but 10 years ago I used to shower once a week, or so.Coito ergo sum wrote:Brits! I'm generally speaking like the "hardcore" stick figure. I turn the shower on, setting it to the same spot each time, and get right in, ignoring the fact that it's initially too cold and I begin showering immediately without regard for the temperature. Generally, I have set the temperature to the same as I like it, but if it's a bit high, I dial it down, and if it's a bit low, I dial it up. But, the temperature is never so extreme that I can't just get on with the shower.maiforpeace wrote:I let the water get warm, then I undress and get in.Twoflower wrote:I chill out naked.Gawdzilla wrote:
It's no myth... soap is alcaline, and disrupts the natural oils that are part of the skin's protection system... maybe daily is not excessive, but many people do it 2 or 3 times daily, not counting the handwashing every time they go to the jakes, and before/after meals... at that rate, you'll need special products to protect8repare the skin of your hands, and sensitive skins my not like two daily showers either.Coito ergo sum wrote:Svartalf wrote:Excessive use of soap being actually bad for the skin is a fact myth.

A shower/bath in the morning gives me terrible nausea.JimC wrote:Does anyone else find that a shower wakes them up in the morning, or is it just me?
