I shower every day now, mostly because I've got used to it and can't wake up properly if I don't.... but 10 years ago I used to shower once a week, or so.

30 years ago, people used to bath once a week and wash their hands and face every morning. It's only the marketing scam "B.O." that got everyone concerned about how they smell. Showering every day with soap is actually bad for your skin. Why do you think it's so bad that some people don't shower every day? :dono:

It's a myth that showering every day is bad for you.

Excessive use of soap being actually bad for the skin is a fact.

I don't shower every day. I just don't always get a chance too. It's about every other day through the week and on Saturday and Sunday. I'd say I average 5 showers a week. And, if I do shower one day after the next, I only wash my hair every other day.
I have 2 small children at home with me and it's not always easy to get them both to sleep at the same time so that I can get in the shower. Pumpkin Head can't be trusted with Carson yet, and I don't feel comfortable getting in the shower with Carson awake. Sometimes hubby comes home for lunch and I'll grab a shower then, but he doesn't always come home at lunch time and sometimes when he does, he has phone calls to make and can't watch the kids. In the evenings, I'm usually too busy with dinner, cleaning up dinner, helping Marina with school stuff and then getting everyone ready for bed. Some evenings I'll jump in the shower before bed, but I hate doing that because if I go to sleep with wet hair, it's a freakin' mess when I wake up. The blowdryer takes forever and is noisy, so I usually skip that. I don't feel dirty, or smell that way, at the end of most days because I usually just do light house work and hang out with the kids all day.

Same. Living with my dad and brother and any carers that come in during the day means I can't just leave the door open and I don't fancy leaving a 3 and 5 yr old and young dog to their own devices, nor do I want them all sat in the bathroom with me! I'll have a shower every other day, or if I get one everyday I won't wash my hair everytime, the whole hair drying ritual is a real drag and luckily my hair doesn't get greasy very quickly. Washing and being clean doesn't have to = shower. I do love a good wallow in the bath in the evening when I can, I spend ages floating or making whirlpools with the showerhead :shifty:

It's can refer to either making it rain indoors or a having bit of a lie down in a very small indoor pond.
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

I own a bathtub, in my house, and I have used it once in 5 years. I do have a quick shower almost every day, in the morning, either at home or at work if I've cycled in. When I'm out bush it's a different story - water is scarce in the desert.
