Bullshit apple didn't know.
The very foudnation of technology is testing. They would have had a very clear idea of what effect it would have.

Apple's never been about anything but the money. Why the surprise now?

Fuck the mutherfuckin'
Fuck the mutherfuckin'
Fuck the mutherfuckin' MS Corp.

I'd still rather see people using crApple than Micro$haft.

I'm so fucking pissed and annoyed right now.. I'm a linux user m'kay? But I've been playing Fallout New Vegas (through wine [which works great]), but to make my own mods I needed to run on windoze.. I formatted my old install partition and installed windoze, swapped out drives - switching the boot drive, thus losing the mbr which windoze always so happily overwrites.. (/dev/sdb became /dev/sda and vice versa). Anyway, I fixed all that. Got it working. Spent an hour setting up POS windoze, then realized 12gb was not enough space for what I needed to do, so I resized the partition with gParted. Then it all went to shit. Windoze doesn't like it if you do shit like that. It wouldn't boot. Just hung on 'welcome to windows'. So fuck, I try to reinstall after trying everything I could think of to fix it only to find it's not happy that it's being installed on /dev/sdb, it demands to be installed on /dev/sda! Motherfucker! So now I delete the partition on /dev/sdb and resize the other one to use the whole disc, resize my data partition on /dev/sda, create a new 30-40gb partition for windoze, install windoze, restore GRUB2, reconfigure windoze all over again.

I'm certain Micro$haft hires a billion or so Chinese to type away randomly at their consoles until they produce an O/S that sort of, kinda, works. :irate: :irate: :irate: :irate: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: ;ob; ;ob; ;ob; ;ob; ;ob; ;ob; ;ob;

Aha I think I've got it! It's simple, just remove the master and plug in the secondary drive. That ought to get windoze to stfu and install and save me having to fuck with the mbr again.

I have an even simpler solution - Buy a PC, install Windows 7. Instant OS that is compatible with pretty much everything commercially available on the market.

Um...
the company deliberately crippled the device with a software update in order to force customers to shell out for an iPhone 4

Wouldn't surprise me in the least, to be honest.

It would surprise me if it was intentional. It would not surprise me if they found a bug that effected the older model and decided that it would be nice to have more important issues to deal with.

I used to like Apple's long backward compatibility.
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

How about no? Windoze is the damn problem. Coded by fucking monkeys. I just need it to run 3DS and GECK, I've got the game to run with higher detail, better load distances and better FPS on linux

edit: I got it all fixed last night.. idiotic Windoze - "We're the only O/S in the universe. Therefore all your MBR is belong to us!" :banghead:

Honestly, a PC form factor isn't that great for a cell phone.

Apple used to care about backwards compatibility.

I wouldn't go that far, I'm thinking of buying a $300.00 one to play around on. Maybe I'll make it a dual boot.
