Now lawmakers are examining whether to do something to discourage it.

Is this just a way to legislate the convention that certain things ought not to be said while a lady is present?
Carrie Goodman, 27, a student who lives in Manhattan, said she hears a whistle or comment "once or twice a day."
"It bothers me, but I just keep walking," she said. Goodman is skeptical that lawmakers can do anything about it, though.
"You can't really control what comes out of people's mouths," she said.
On the flip side....
"Too commonly, street harassment is believed to be the price women pay for living in New York City," said its executive director, Emily May. "But we're not buying it.
" Well, isn't listening to things we don't want to hear the price everyone pays for going out in public?
How pissed off would they be if no-one whistled?

Wimins....there's just no pleasin' 'em....
Yeah, well I'm not paying for the room.
...oh -don't worry.... you'll pay....

Yeah. They need to at least stop the car so I can decide whether or not to reciprocate. 'Course, in my part of the world, these sounds are as likely signals of astonishment that I still use my legs for transportation. Fat hick cunts.

Why is it classic beauties are always in black and white?

If there were a heaven, she's what I would look like there. Well, more than looks-- her grace, her style, her voice. Bella!

Hey sexy.
Oh wait, did I go to far?

For the record I've gotten cat calls from women before, and I didn't mind it. Of course maybe that it because it rarely happens to me.

Not exactly remarkable here.

Of course - one of those scenes that one just can't forget.

"Excuse me, but I feel that I should inform you that you are quite an attractive lady... in case nobody has told you recently"
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."
