Trigger Warning!!!1! :
'Oh fuck, a deathclaw.. Fuck.. Fucking hell, a dozen of the fuckers?! I swam across the river at the bottom right hand corner of the map and found a path up to the cliffs and found even more of them. Mind you the eggs in the nest and on the alpha females go for a fair bit, and there's a woman in a shack near the quarry who wants them.
Trigger Warning!!!1! :
Funny because, yesterday, I didn't know how to get to Fort, so I decided to follow the river (Hoover Dam's river to the south) until I meet a huge amount of deathclaws (from the smaller to the biggest) and they killed me in about 2 hits. Then, I quickloaded and decided to ignore them and go souther. I came across a huge amount of another kind of monster, can't remember the name tho. Kinda looked like Mirelurk Kings from FO3.
This game is INTENSE.

I play hardcore with two backpack mods - one looks cool so I wear it, the other one is alright but not so cool so I give it to my companion to wear. I can carry.. 370 I think.

Lakelurks I think? Yeah, there seem to be large pockets of every kind of creature in the wasteland that pounce on you, have so far stumbled across
Trigger Warning!!!1! :
ghouls, giant radscorpions, lakelurks, robots and deathclaws. With the ghouls and scorpions I just ran backwards shooting til I became wedged up against some rocks so they couldn't actually reach me and just kept shooting til they were all dead, the robots I forget where they were so haven't gone back to them yet.
Men! They're all beasts!
Yeah. But isn't it wonderful?

I when I come across "tribes" (i.e. huge amount) of creatures, I almost spend all my ammos killing them
Trigger Warning!!!1! :
especially ants, radscorpions and lakelurks because they have some kind of "natural" armor.

Does make me wonder if the 'Animal Friend' or whatever its called perk would actually be useful in this one. Any idea if it includes Deathclaws?

If it's similar to the Fallout 3 version, then no. It doesn't work on insects or Deathclaws.

Animal Friend:
"This perk affects Bighorner, Geckos, Coyote, Legion mongrel, Dog, Mole rat, Brahmin, Giant rat and Wolf. It is is also more effective than in Fallout 3, as the second tier of the perk will now cause tamed animals to come to the aid of the Courier, whereas in Fallout 3 the only "neutral" animal type to all factions were Brahmin and no enemies used animals as attack pets."

The animal I hate are the Night Stalkers, they're creepy

No, doesn't work for mutant animals. It's pretty useful when you're fighting Caesar's troops as their dogs won't tear you a new one, and if you have two ranks they'll help you. Other than that not very useful.

I use veronica with the displacer glove since I'm a sniper type. She can nutpunch anything that gets too close

Isn't the companion perk for ED-E really good though? Let's you I'd targets from far away. Good thing for a sniper who doesn't want to kill innocents. :)

Bollocks, did I miss out on Veronica? Killed her aaaaaages ago when I pilfered her dogs brain :(

I have 4 companions so far, Rex, Cass, Boone and ED-E, know of any others? I think there's a ghoul up in Black Mountain but he wouldn't come with me last time as I already had companions.

Mmm dunno, I only knew about her, boone and ED-E.

I don't like looking things up too much (about the game), ruins the mystery and immersion.
Trigger Warning!!!1! :
veronica is a brotherhood paladin in disguise, her specialty is power gloves - but her perk sucks (mobile work bench through dialogue)

Two things irritating me now:
1) The NV Geck will not run for me
2) Sound often cuts in and out, though sometimes it doesn't.
3) Fixing other peoples mods because they can't get their shit to come out straight.

Three things that are irritating me. Lol.

I've got the game modded to the gills now. So now I've got to edit all the mods and fix the conflicts and tweak them to my liking.

Best mod so far New Vegas FPS - different settings, but in doubles or triples the damage done by everything so you can kill an npc without it taking 20 bullets (headshot is almost always a one-shot kill on anything squishy). Usually 2-4 rounds to the chest kill an npc (and you too). If you're a stealthy character you get the sneak attack multiplier which makes almost any shot a one shot kill (which I don't like, I'd mod it to remove the multiplier if the damn GECK would work).

I'm worried I might have to dual-boot windoze to mod. :(
