Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.

Re: Flavourless mafia day 6
That explains some of the questions I had about the balance of the game. In reality there was effectively one vig and a roleblocker, and scum had a roleblocker. I wish that I had thought of the possibility of having simultaneous scum with only one kill going through. That would be another reason to out before getting lynched, to explain that to town. Although it sounds like maybe the vigs did know the whole thing. But still, to tall about blocks and sttuff, any info could have helped.oblivion wrote:all three vig's were active at the beginning of the game. Only one of them had live ammunition each night, and they didn't know there were other vig's until that was made apparent in the daybreak/nightfall posts. So, only one vig kill would happen on a given night, and the other vig(s) would have to guess why their kill didn't go through.

I think all this wrap-up discussion and feedback is a great idea

Re: Flavourless mafia day 6
Also I know that atleast myself and one other vig received this in our roll:
"You are a compulsive vigilante. Each night you must choose a player to kill. If you do not choose a player I will assign one randomly. "

My first choice was Totals.....I must have been shooting blanks as Feck was killed. Worked out either way except it gave Zig the op to Bus totals.DennyB wrote:Also I know that atleast myself and one other vig received this in our roll:

The viggies all got the same PM and were as much in the dark about the blank firing as everyone else. It would have been much more interesting if they had survived a bit longer

If you have any questions I'm sure everyone will be helpful. Thanks again for the game.

Actually, iirc, Ani did mention he had been blocked ... I think he did?higgs2 wrote:Actually, ani, zig was the scum role blocker, so you probably wouldn't have been able to kill him. But the next day you could have told us about your blocks which would have helped, assuming they couldn't block and the kill you. Any how, at least town would have had a shot at lynching scum if you had claimed special in time.

I think this is a big reason I wouldn't want to mentor a player, for fear of what you describe here.oblivion wrote:I did play through my mentee the very first time I mentored. I didn't know any better really, because I'd never been mentored myself. I thought telling him exactly what I would do at every step of the game would be helpful.
Watching him struggle the next few games made me realize it is a terrible way to teach someone mafia. The mentor shouldn't teach the mentee how to play the mentor's game. The mentor should help the mentee discover his/her own game.

I meant if he had claimed special, not been lynched, been blocked by zig and targeted zig also. If he lived to the next day he could have told us he targeted zig and was blocked. does that make sense?Charlou wrote:Actually, iirc, Ani did mention he had been blocked ... Nah. She doesn't do that at all. She's a very good mentor, helps people learn how to make decisions. I have mentored before, and it was almost more fun than actually playing. It's fun when you see someone make a breakthrough and realize what is happening, think of a new strategy, identify scum, that kind of think. Charlou, you would probably make a good mentor. You have the basics of mafia nailed, you seem like you would be easy to work with and genuinely helpful.Charlou wrote:I think this is a big reason I wouldn't want to mentor a player, for fear of what you describe here.oblivion wrote:I did play through my mentee the very first time I mentored. Also, I have a cheat sheet which is all of the questions ja poisson asked me when he mentored me rofl! They are excellent questions.

Now you have to share. It isn't nice to tease with something like that. What happened to JA anyway?higgs2 wrote:Nah. She doesn't do that at all.
