Mechatronics

Post by Dory » Thu Oct 07, 2010 6:23 pm

I'm over the roof right now, guys.

I've had a couple of meetings with respect to my dream field, bionics. Sadly, all colleges and universities demand I have full studies diploma which include Bible, Hebrew literature, civil studies, history, and more shit like that. The most annoying test I need to pass with a high score is a SAT-like test called pshycometry which is mostly riddles, puzzled and stupid shit, which the more you do the more you get better it-- a part of the educational industrial complex (that's how the committee of high learning can afford to budget colleges--a very real and not surprising "conspiracy") I refuse and deny it all. Instead, I've signed up via a professionalizing college to the field of Mechatronics-- which is not that far out of my field of bionics. They don't require anything! Well, other that I complete just a tiny bit of Hebrew studies. Really teeny. I'll swallow that frog.

Anyway, it has less biology, but I can complete my biological studies via the Open University.

Funny part number 1: The 3 years evening course starts this sunday. This sunday.

Funny part number 2: I get a 10% discount because I'm female, and the field is lacking females so apparently they give them discount. When should I take off my pants? ;)

HAHAHAHAHAHA. Life's a bitch and I'm its mistress. Now, I finally got my way (don't I always?), I'm in a destined degree course. I'm studying science. Time to get cracking.

-Dory

PS. Funny part number 3: We're a ratio of 4 girls, 50 guys.

Weird education system :?

Why the hell do you need hebrew studies for a technical course? Wtf is all that about?
In the best laid plans of history lie the ruins of the past
And a chronicle of suffering shows the mythic pall they cast
To believe is true religion, but to see is truth at last
Oh no, too late to hold a trial, time doesn't wait for the watchmaker's dial

That's what you get for staying in a theocracy like israel, look at Genesforlife who's trying to come study in a civilized country...

I'll answer that in a second, but a few Hebrew studies is not that bad. Other colleges and especially universities make you complete a full high school diploma! That's Bible, history, etc. Tons of unsciency stuff! +The SAT-like test. At least with the college I've chosen I get away with 98% of that, and just left with a bit of Hebrew studies. Which, fair enough, I do live in Israel and the mechatronics course is in Hebrew, after all, so I'll budge for that. Still a little humphy, but it's a relatively small price to pay.

As far as "why the hell" do I need it. I think I've explained it-- it's the educational industrial system. They have some standardized subjects and tests, and it's the norm. So, if there are a few rebels like me, they don't care. It's a bureaucratic money-making machine. Think about it, nearly every one in Israel who wanna go to higher learning pay hundreds for these standardized tests, some budgeting committees get to keep some of that money (probably most of that money) and give some of it to colleges-- who it turn force students who wanna admit to take these tests. It has nothing to do with study ability or enhancing science knowledge. It's purely, but purely, money. These colleges can't accept without these tests or they won't be budgeted by the committee.

The college I'm signing up for is budgeted by Israel's workforce department. They just want you to go pro. I think the Hebrew studies are to scare of Arabs and/or conform them.

Mmmh, I guess the Hebrew studies are either to make sure you're functional in a hebrew speaking society, or to make sure you're a well rounded student... I had French lit, Latin and history certificates in my first year of English studies in France, and was strongly encouraged to take more certificates outside the English department as part of my English degree (like 2 years of Hebrew, a certificate in general ancient history and basic archeology, and a course in comparative Germanic languages that was actually a primer on Icelandic language, Norse culture and runology... all giving credit for my graduation)

I see. You know Hebrew then?

Again, I'd just like to point out that most colleges and all universities required many tests, it's only the professionalizing specific college that I've signed up for that forgoes it. I think it's good for a lot of foreign students, which may be why Hebrew studies are involved. Should be a piece of cake for me, even though I'm not actually a big fan of lingual studies.

Actually, I never went that far, it was a couple beginner's certificates, not full courses... and I've used it so little in the last 24 or so years since that I can't even spell a word I read without checking with a model... bit like what happened to my Japanese.

You're not a fan of lingual studies? shame, women seem to love a cunning linguist.

Well, I just finished my first day of Mechatronics studies! Or, I should say, fraction studies!

Goddamn it. We're started from basic math.. EXCUSE ME, BUT WHY DID I SPEND THE LAST 2 MONTHS OF MY LIFE OVERSTUDYING, OVERWORKING, MANIACALLY-DRIVING MYSELF TO FINISH ALL OF PRE-CALCULUS AND CALCULUS I MATERIAL??!??? Just so I could start from the beginning?!??? Well fuck me!

Fuck fuckity fuck fuck. Fuckamutha fucking fuckerfuck fucky fook fack fick fuckrrrrrrrrrrrrrsf

DAMN IT.

Stupid idiotic moronic classmates.

48 male dumbfucks, everyone looks more retarded than the next. And one goddamn girl who can't do fractions if her life dependent on it (not me, the other girl in the course. 48-2 ratio!!!). I feel like I've arrived to retard land. I HOPE these are not the engineers of tomorrow or Israel is seriously fucked! Somebody throw me a wrench!
