United States government deliberately infects...

A fine example of US history. Sad to say, this doesn't surprise me in the least.

The United States government has apologised for deliberately infecting hundreds of people in Guatemala with gonorrhoea and syphilis as part of medical tests more than 60 years ago.

None of those infected - mentally ill patients and prisoners - consented.

Guatemalan President Alvaro Colom accused the US of "crimes against humanity".

US President Barack Obama has called Mr Colom to apologise and has said the acts ran contrary to American values.

Yes, but in the intervening time, the German people went through a lot of soul-searching...

This should be a sobering and somewhat disturbing report for current Americans, something that will reduce the chances of it happening again.

That's right. But the US is totally different now. It's not as if they would behave the same today.

What surprises me is that you could not find anything more recent or important to fuel your burning agenda.
