Auntie is just full of good news on the weather front:
... the headline news from BBC Wales weather presenter Behnaz Akhgar is: "The heavy rain is due to ease off after 1400 BST and there is to be light rain until the end of the afternoon where it will clear up altogether... drier, clearer conditions overnight... but there may be an issue with fog lingering over the course until 0900 BST on Saturday... but after that bright and breezy conditions are expected which might help dry the course... likely to be back to square one on Sunday as it will be a similar story to today as rain is forecast early on and is unlikely to clear until Monday morning."

So, after all the rain on Friday and this morning, the singles matches are going to be tomorrow.

The organisers are taking a huge amount of stick for restricting access to tomorrow's play. Spectators will only be allowed through the gates if they have tickets for today, and they can't pass them to someone else if they're not able to come themselves. No compensation for anyone who had a ticket for Friday and saw very little play.

Pretty poor show, as there will only be half the atmosphere there that there should be. :Erasb:

The timing is wrong - it should be a couple of weeks earlier - and it usually is a week or two earlier. That would give up to an extra hour's play between the morning and evening, and this would give some much needed leeway in terms of scheduling. Never mind the weather probably being better. It's something of a minor miracle that there has never been this much of a problem with the weather before now in the Ryder Cup. But moving it forward is going to be difficult while these new end-of-season big-money exclusive events (especially in the US) take precedence. :levi:

Oh, and Tiger Woods and Stever Stricker have just had their assess handed to them on a plate by Lee Westwood and Luke Donald, 6 & 5. That's gotta hurt ... :eddy:

It's going down to the wire...

Currently EUR 13-11 USA. Looks like it will be 14-13 any minute and down to the last game.
