It is hard for people to get a read on you because you are new. Short of a seer view there is oe way to be sure about your alignment. Reading over today you look less scummy.

I'm going to have a trawl over today and yesterday and see what I can pick up
Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.

for one thing, you seem more worried about not getting lynched than you do about finding scum. Mafia is a team game. personal survival doesn't matter unless you have a one-off indie role and win condition. If you are town, you win by getting scum lynched. If you are scum, you win by getting town lynched.

It's that simple. and no matter how well you adapt your game to other players' feedback about too quiet or too noisy or too aggressive or too followy or too whatever, the way people figure out your alignment is by the intended effect of your posts.

Hunt for scum and try to get scum lynched if you are town.

totals, DennyB, and anyone else who'd like pointers - I can't recommend J.A.Poisson's post enough: http://rationalia.com/forum/viewtopic.p ... 50#p469516

You'll see my name in that post a few times. I was scum in that game, and town let me slide all the way to the end without a serious challenge until something like day 6.

Normal has been fading into the background very efficiently. He dropped a vote on Morticia yesterday and then disappeared. That strikes me as a possible bus if the BW picked up speed. Today he hit the club at the start of the thread then came back with a review post and left without voting. I'm going to leave this as a big FOS for now until he turns up to answer for himself.

eta cross post. feck was the next person i was going to read over and give my analysis of

ok so i read that. thanks its really helpful. so vote record is sort of a decent way to spot scum, with the 3rd or 4th votes a decent tell. who was late on the bandwagon for mono?

The mono vote happened too fast for that sort of rule to work sure fire, but Mortisia was the 3rd vote. I was the 4th.

I am less suspicious of Feck than I was now I have read back. Starting a BW on a scummate on day one is a seriously risky gambit that I don't think he would go for. His play today has all seemed pro-town after he was called on the lurking

I should add that when the votes are spread out all over the day it's a little hard to use that rule too. We have about a gazillion time zones playing this game, and people fade out for several hours at a time during their nights or work hours.

k, 3rd vote for mono was morticia, scum just like the post by J.A. Poisson said it would be, then oblivion, then ghat. i know the post said it isnt a set in stone type of tell, but it did work for morticia. so other scum MIGHT be oblivion, like i thought then retracted, or ghat, like a few of you seem to think now

ok, but i would think that votes done with little time between them would be a perfect setting for that rule to apply. a scum would try to slip in during the rush. no?
