Which Miliband..and do we care?
David or Ed? And what's the difference? Ed seems to think we don't have as much of a deficit issue requiring 'deep cuts' as Dave, but that's about the only difference I can see..
..and do we care? Really.
For non-Brits, the labour party who got thrown out at our recent election are appointing a new leader. Two of the five candidates are bros, oddly.

Either of them is certainly weird enough to be chosen but I would go for Andy Burnham. Local lad and all that

As far as I'm concerned they're a pair of swinging, hairy...
Ed "ShouldersKneesAnd" Balls, on the other hand, has a name that's funny to anyone with the sense of humour of a 10 year old.
Other than that, does it make any difference?

[Disclaimer - if this is comes across like I think I know what I'm talking about, I want to make it clear that I don't. I'm just trying to get my thoughts down]

To me it's very important. Not who is the best, but who could get labour voters off their asses.
I think David would do that better, he just seems a little bit cooler, less youthful, just enough to swing it with the voters.
Labour only just lost, with Gordon Brown, so they do have a good chance next time. They should get plenty of the Liberal vote.

True. They've shot themselves in the foot yet again. The conservatives will be having a big party tonight.thepill wrote:Labour cant win an election with a leader from the left. They seemed to have again forgotton that.
The unions won the leadership election, but it's heavily odds-on they'll be dealing with a conservative govornment for the next two terms now.

Oooh, Edward got the job! I quite like him, he so much more left leaning. It would be nice to see a regression on 'New Labour' and a return to their roots. If he plays his cards right, I wont be surprised to see him presiding over the country in five years time as the Premier.

With Ed in charge he can 'support' the Unions over the next couple of years of inevitable industrial strife and ruin his credibility and then the slightly righty Dave can step in! Who knows they may even have stitched it up like Tone and Gordon did!

And when was the last time labour won with a left wing leader?Lozzer wrote:Oooh, Edward got the job! I quite like him, he so much more left leaning. A very long time ago, but I think the layman is going to crave more equality politics in five years to come after the Tory government.thepill wrote:And when was the last time labour won with a left wing leader?Lozzer wrote:Oooh, Edward got the job!
