How is your soul today?

Post by Tero » Fri Sep 17, 2010 4:16 pm

Stumbled onto a religion forum, amazon.com.

The same old thing. They were talking neurobiology and all.

Me
No, it is like Robert H said below/above, it is pretty much psychological stuff, to deal with your feelings. There can be lots of conflicts and turmoil inside. I prefer to look at the outside world. Inside my head, there are just spiritual moths flying around.

So no, the prayer and meditation is just to deal with inner things, there is no outside force. It helps some weaker individuals to think that, that is the only way you can get forgiven for some sins.

We atheist are..most of us.. pure, we just don't get to sin much. I am an atheist monk, not even interested in wealth that much.

Well, this isnt going anywhere. Lets just go straight to Vonnegut then
I myself at one time tried to become a biochemist--as did our darling, terribly missed brother Isaac Asimov. He actually became one. I didn't have a chance. He was smarter than me. We both knew that, incidentally. He is in heaven now.
http://www.vonnegutweb.com/archives/arc_humanist.html
I am honorary president of the American Humanist Association, having succeeded the late, great, spectacularly prolific writer and scientist, Dr. Isaac Asimov in that essentially functionless capacity. At an A.H.A. memorial service for my predecessor I said, "Isaac is up in Heaven now." That was the funniest thing I could have said to an audience of humanists. It rolled them in the aisles. Mirth! Several minutes had to pass before something resembling solemnity could be restored.
I made that joke, of course, before my first near-death experience — the accidental one.
So when my own time comes to join the choir invisible or whatever, God forbid, I hope someone will say, "He's up in Heaven now." Who really knows? I could have dreamed all this.
My epitaph in any case? "Everything was beautiful. Nothing hurt." I will have gotten off so light, whatever the heck it is that was going on.

He is still confused about the Sermon on the mount.

I'd swap my soul for £50.

Check's in the mail, I made it $100, is that close enough? Will this be a S, M or L soul? I will have a cat basket for it when it gets here. Just the basket, there is no cat. Hope your soul can put up with guns babies and Jesus, all are outside the door.

I've never been able to check the size. My soul seems to be intangible, invisible, ingustible, inaudible and inolfactible.

Well, I was hoping it would turn into a bidding war.
