We prefer to use our secret satellite that induces "natural" earthquakes. We'd probably get blamed for nukes; buncha hippies around the world, I tell ya.

Sending death threats is not a sign of instability, it's sending death threats you mean that is a sign of instability.

And that can't be determined so all threats have to be treated as serious.

Really, no kidding. They gave me guns and everything. (The "everythings" kept blowing up. :()
It never goes away, you just learn to hide it.

The White House should have sent an abusive and threatening email back...

"Listen here, you snivelling little limey cock-sucker, threaten The President and we will come over there and FUCK YOU UP. We will FUCK your pets up. We will FUcKING reduce Bedforshire to the GOD DAmN Stone age, Mother-Fucker!"

Something like that.

That's how the rest of the world does it.

I'm 99% certain that it was just a stupid lapse in judgment. Still it's a cheapening of everything if we don't take threats seriously.

Having been threatened, I think it's perfectly right to deny the kid entry to the country if he threatens the President.
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

I'm going to burn a big pile of presidents unless KFC back off from building an outlet at the end of my street.

What I believe is missing here is a sense of proportion.

Why do you not wish for the venerable and inscrutable colonel to build a house near you?

I don't want shell-suited KFC-slobbering hooligans swaggering around my neck of the woods!

Even if he did travel to America, he'd have hard job getting close to the president. Is Obama so afraid of this kid that he's never going to visit the UK again? If not, then it's over the top - especially when they know it's just a teenager fucking around.
[Disclaimer - if this is comes across like I think I know what I'm talking about, I want to make it clear that I don't. I'm just trying to get my thoughts down]

I don't think it's Obama, it's probably the people dealing with his security.

According to wiki, it wasn't for merely expressing political opinions:
Wikipedia wrote:The then UK Home Secretary, Jacqui Smith, announced on May 5, 2009 that Savage was on a list of individuals banned from entering the United Kingdom as he is "considered to be engaging in unacceptable behaviour by seeking to provoke others to serious criminal acts and fostering hatred which might lead to inter-community violence".
