What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

Snow white was shit ? Disney invented the full length animation and most of the tech to make a film watchable .FFS
You actually said that ! what planet are you on? I knew you had terrible taste in music but that is the saddest thing you have come out with on this forum so far .
It would suggest the best thing for you is to stick your head in a plastic bag and breath pure helium or argon for about an hour .

Older Disney absolutely fucking rules, so fuck all y'all that say otherwise. Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, The Jungle Book, Lady and the Tramp, even some of the later stuff (eg Pocahantas, '95 I think) was fairly true to old Disney. If you don't like the smulchtz then fine but Disney did a damn fine job of making the films emotive, my 3 yr old girl positively trembles at the end of Beauty and the Beast or Sleeping Beauty. And the artwork make the films incredibly easy on the eye, I can quite happily sit through a Dsiney film with the kids and just enjoy the views.
Try this clip, ignore the schmultz is you wish, even turn the sound off, but feast your eyes on the backdrop.

Lion King and Aladdin yes. Snow white? No. Cinderella? No.

In recent years Disney music has been mostly Phil Collins, if I'm not mistaken.Deep Sea Isopod wrote:Disney music is SOOOO Elton John!!!

Non-Pixar Disney stuff can be entertaining when it throws out the save-the-princess cliche and doesn't take itself too seriously. Lion King 1 1/2 was actually pretty funny because in a sense it parodied the first Lion King movie through the eyes of the sidekicks. Aladdin was watchable because they allowed Robin Williams some free reign to babble - and I'd love to hear the audio they left on the cutting room floor because they couldn't possibly put cocaine jokes in a kids' movie.
