Oh right, thanks. He must have got in quick then, because I find that the edit option has been disappearing very quick lately, like in a matter of minutes, a few days ago.
Maybe that was some sort of glitch.

He got in while the edit time allowed was a couple of days. It's now set at 30 minutes to prevent this happening again.

I still fear that the new edit time may be too short.. some days, I get veeerry late that I said an enormity I wish to take out or correct... could the edit time be set at like 8 to 12 hours instead of just 2?
2 is fine for some mistakes, a few might require longer... I mean, if I posted something really horrible in a bout of drunken weirdness, I might want to replace it with a more correct text without having to resort to the :fixed: magic wand (which I may use anyway to draw attention onto the editing)

No way edit is for little mistakes ...give everyone 12 hours and half the posts would go when people see what they posted the night before ....where is the fun in that ?

I dunno, it seems like a bit of an overreaction to change the edit time just because of one incident. It's not like anything earth-shaking was lost. Quite entertaining really. I would put it back to two days. There wasn't a problem before, not that I noticed anyway, but maybe I missed it.

It wasn't a one off, we've had the same issue a few times in the past, though quite a long time ago.
