Atheist Organisations - what's out there? - any comments on?

Never been much of a joiner (not because I am an Atheist - just that I am deeply socially unpleasant).........but was wondering what Atheist or Secular Organisations (UK ish) are around and what they did - particularly any that were proactive (a PITA? ) on spreading the message................any input on how they score on the complete knob end scale would also be appreciated

Not so interested in the Dawkins end of Atheism, way too much thinking involved. and long words

Sceptics in the pub. Secular, more social than message-spreading, but it's the best thing I can think of.
