Gallstones already announced she was leaving the thread, so I'll just point out something about this:

What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

Why the hell are you lot even having this argument on Rationalia? What the fuck has it got to do with us?
I've only been reading for the last 2 pages but I can't see why this forum is being used as battlefield.

That's been a big part of what this discussion is about...from what I surmise by members of RS they are able to have this discussion over there - there was a misconception that such discussion was stifled or locked. So, I agree with you, why isn't it over there?
I'm just speculating, but I think it's not there because the members of RS who are complaining just don't feel comfortable discussing it at RS. They are here at Ratz to blow off steam, then the steam started to burn some members of RS. Those burned members want to correct what they think is a misrepresentation of RS so it's all here.
So, yes I agree with Paco - for those involved in the argument, why haven't you taken it to RS?
