Jim, I vote informal if there are no candidates I want to support. IMO an informal vote is valid and makes a valid comment.

I remember once saying "You can't just call religion a delusion."
There were a number of reasons, but primarily the fact that they were now playing the politics game, and that there were plenty of religious Australians who would still like to see a more secular state.

The reply given was roughly "Thanks to Richard Dawkins, we can call them delusional."
If they have such an outspoken stance against religion/the religious, then they're not really behaving in a secular manner.

You're in luck. There is.

Quite so.

I've finally realised that I am no longer voting for who I want in, but against those I wish to keep out.

That is probably the only valid argument against Charlou's "vote informal suggestion", but only in situations like the Senate, or seats on the borderline, where keeping the libs from winning might just rate fractionally more than disgust at the incompetence and chicanery of labour...

If you're disabled you qualify for legal aid. Seek it out and get some advice.
That doesn't sound right.

So my friend is going on a whirlwind of meetings with assorted progressive groups. This looks like a lot of fun whether it's a viable candidacy or not.

Good luck to him anyway - he'd be hard-pressed to be any worse than the current crop... :hehe:
