Several other RDF members have downloaded everything that had not been burnt by Timonen by closing time, and NineBerry in particular has worked hard to make the whole kit and caboodle available for download via a 550MB *.rar file, which, when expanded, takes up something like 40GB. Details here.
I'll have a look at your suggestion anyway. Thanks again.
Hi Seraph. Here's another repository of old RDF threads & posts. We all need to save these links in our browser:
List of RDF mambers who were not wiped: http://beyondyourken.com/phoenix/Users.html
List of RDF boards: http://beyondyourken.com/phoenix/index.html
The advantage of the above site is that it is not a rar or zip file. It's in plain downloadable English. Also, the 2 sites I mentioned have live links, so you can go to either & 'zoom in' on whatever interests you, simply by clicking on it. :td:
Thanks again. I got all that on disk, courtesy of NineBerry. That way I'll still have the info if your links go dead, like the one you provided in your opening post. All I get there is the following error message: "Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /nfs/c06/h04/mnt/95332/domains/forum.richarddawkins.net/html/cache/tpl_subsilver2_overall_header.html.php on line 193"

That's because you are using the "subsilver 2" forum theme. The "prosilver" theme works, but there's no way to switch from "subsilver 2" to "prosilver" while it doesn't work.

Clear your cookies or use a different browser to visit the site so you are not logged in. This way, as a logged off user, you will use "prosilver" by default.

Thank you. That works.

Today I ventured onto RD.net to find an old post of FUWF's that I recalled laughing my head off to all those moons ago, and I can't find it. My only guess is that the RD.net staff of the time must have "relocated" it for being a bit brazen. :(

It was this really funny post about how "Unweaving the Rainbow" was originally the name of Richard Dawkins' 80s New Age band - and all this other totally off-the-wall bollocks that could only have come from either FUWF or Devogue. I really wanted to re-read it... :pardon: :( :hehe:
Then they for sudden joy did weep,
And I for sorrow sung,
That such a king should play bo-peep,
And go the fools among.

thy fool to lie: I would fain learn to lie.

Have you checked the archive that NineBerry did?

Thanks Seraph - I missed/forgot about your post in the time since my last posting here. I've had a look there, though, and all I can get is a list of threads a user has participated in.

I'm not going to trawl that hard to find a post about Unweaving The Rainbow originally being the name of Richard's band... :hehe:

You might get something out of reading the opening post of this thread.

I already read and understood it. It was the (working) search function on RD.net that I attempted to use to unearth said post of FUWF's. I still couldn't find it, even when I went to the lengths of including "all posts" in the advanced search - searching by author. That's why I stated that it was possibly relocated to the "dungeon", so to speak, back in the day...

I thought there might be an off-chance that maybe Nineberry had somehow managed to mirror previously hidden areas of the forum, or an off-chance that something might just have gone or be going wonky on RD.net's system, and that's why that had been brought up.

Out of luck then, in that case. I even tried Google caches using a few combinations of keywords suggested by your description of the post, and came up with zilch. O well...

Yeah... Almost makes me doubt my memory of the event. But I SWEAR, I SWEAR - it was there once. Must have been set aside in the hidden Thread of Shame. Oh well...
