What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. It's being massively hyped at the moment (especially post-SJ prize for non-fiction) but it's worth saying that Barbra Demick's recent book on DPRK, Nothing To Envy, is quite brilliant.
