Awesome rant. Now apply it to Reid and Obama as well.Chinaski wrote:And now, I lovely rant courtesy of another forum I visit (the same one the libertarian one came from).Pelosi: Dems "share some" tea party views
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi believes the tea party movement shares a common enemy with Democrats -- the entrenched special interests that feed money into the political system.
"We share some of the views of the tea partiers in terms of the role of special interest in Washington, D.C.," Pelosi said in a taped interview airing Sunday on ABC's "This Week." "It just has to stop. And that's why I've fought the special interest, whether it's on energy, whether it's on health insurance, whether it's on pharmaceuticals and the rest."
And Pelosi still believes Washington Republicans are trying to quietly influence the tea party movement through well-funded, fake grassroots organizations, referred to as "astroturf."
"The Republican Party directs a lot of what the tea party does, but not everybody in the tea party takes direction from the Republican Party," Pelosi said. "So there was a lot of, shall we say, Astroturf, as opposed to grassroots."
"Some of it is orchestrated from the Republican headquarters," she continued. "Some of it is hijacking the good intentions who share some of our concerns we have."
And she said she's not worried about the threat the movement presents to her party.
"We're fully prepared to face the American people with the integrity of what we have put forth, the commitment to jobs and health care and education and a world at peace and safe for our children and with the political armed power to go with it to win those elections," she said.
"Dear Speaker Pelosi,
What in the fuck are you thinking? The Democratic Party has absolutely nothing in common with the Teabaggers and the Cult of Glen Beck. Have you been to one of their rallies, seen the type of people who show up, or even listened to their nonsensical, paranoid schizophrenic ramblings? They are fucking insane! What do you not understand about these people? The Teabagger Movement is the ultimate political Trojan horse. Sure, it looks harmless on the outside – more responsible government and less corporate welfare – but inside this seemly reasonable façade lies an army of war mongers, racists, homophobes, 9/11 Truthers, gun nuts, Birthers, xenophobes, 6,000 year old Earth fundamentalists, and Ron Paul supporters. Are you this desperate to be loved or so fucking naïve that you would joyfully roll this dangerous behemoth inside the walls of the Democratic Party? Take my advice and do what King Priam should have done...smash this thing on the rocks or burn it to the fucking ground.
These people are Ponda Baba and Dr. Evazan to your Luke Skywalker. They do not and never will like you. Sure, they’ll copy off of your test and let you suck their cock as long as you promise not to tell anyone, but they are never going to take you to the prom. John Hughes is dead, you are not Molly Ringwald, and that hunky Jake is not going to buy you a cake for your Sweet Sixteenth. Farmer Ted, Long Duck Dong, and Joan Cusack in a neck brace are your base. Wake the fuck up! Stop dreaming and realize that if you decide to get into bed with these people it will not be Patrick Swayze helping you with your pottery while the Righteous Brothers croon in the background, it will be Max Hardcore slapping the shit out of you and turning you into a German Goo Girl.
They are not interested in your olive branch or your bipartisanship. Do you honestly expect anyone to believe that you or any other member of Congress has ever fought against the “special interests” or ever will? Hell, even your bullshit is full of bullshit. A quick look at some data picked up from the website Opensecrets.org clearly shows to anyone with half a brain and a fifth grade reading level that in the 2008 election cycle, PACs in the "Labor" sector contributed $66.4 million, 92% to Democrats; PACs in business sectors contributed a total of $286.5 million, roughly divided about 55% to Republicans, 45% to Democrats; PACs in the Finance, Insurance & Real Estate sector contributed $62.6 million, divided equally between Democrats and Republicans; and "Ideology/single issue" PACs contributed $59 million, 53% to Democrats, 47% to Republicans. Yes, your tireless efforts at combating the special interests have slowed the torrent of cash to a mere $252.6 million trickle for your party alone in one election cycle. And this doesn’t even take into consideration all of the campaign contributions outside of the PACs or the army of lobbyists who roam the Capitol hallways and committee hearing rooms, consulting on and writing the very bills that seek to restrain them. Face facts, Mrs. Speaker, Congress is the east coast version of the Nevada Bunny Ranch and you are all whores.
But this is not news to anyone with a pulse and at least one firing synapse. What is news is that you would sacrifice all of your meager remaining principles in a cynical and suicidal mad dash past the middle and into the extreme Right-wing to woo a group of voters that aren’t going to vote for you anyway. In case you haven’t been paying attention, there are no Democrat Teabaggers. We know you’re a cheap slut but you are quickly approaching crackwhore status.
A lot of good people have worked tirelessly to marginalize and ridicule these Teabaggers, giving them just enough rope to hang themselves and allowing them to show their true colors when they interrupt town hall meetings, carry ridiculously retarded protest signs, and fly small aircraft into buildings in Texas. They are a disorganized mob of fringe dwelling miscreants that even the mainstream power structure of the Republican Party has deemed illegitimate. When Rush Limbaugh and Dick Cheney distance themselves from you and your ideas and Lyndon LaRouche embraces them, it doesn’t take Nancy Reagan and a team of astrologers to predict extra-long sleeves and a padded cell in your near future.
What happened? For awhile, you were on our side and out front leading the venomous charge. Did the election of a pro-choice Republican from Massachusetts who just happened to break ranks with the conservatives and vote with your party on the recent jobs bill scare you that much? Do you honestly believe that it was the Teabaggers who put him in office and not the fact that the Democratic candidate was such an empty vacuous bitch who ran a campaign so incompetent that it made Dukakis riding in a tank look like marketing genius in comparison?
You have a majority government. Republicans were on the ropes. The Teabaggers were and are causing a schism within the Republican Party. You could have just shut the fuck up and watched them self-implode under the weight of their own disgruntled base. You could have just run with the President’s agenda, jammed it through both Houses, and come out the other side smelling like a rose. I mean, you could have if you weren't such a whore and really wanted to do any of it in the first place, which you didn't. But more importantly, you could have further marginalized and fractured the opposition by allowing them to talk themselves into obscurity. Instead, you decide to give credence to their insanity and paranoia. Congratulations, cunt. You have single-handedly legitimized crazy."

I'm happy to compare my posts with yours. Yours are typically baseless, unsubstantiated personal opinions, representing your "wish" that things be the way you would like them to be.NineOneFour wrote:

I point out that you didn't bother to explain your position. You just engaged in yet another personal attack. Once again, I'll ask if you have anything intelligent to say about the matter. If so, by all means share it. My views on any topic are always open to change. That's called having an open mind. That doesn't, of course, mean taking your word for it, especially given your abysmal track record for backing anything up with facts, logical argument and sources.

I thought hypocricy was a requirement to get into congress. It's a club. They can easily figure out what deals the others made.

Re: Nancy Pelosi is fucking naive
She's right about the Tea Party's views. The idea that she shares those views, given that her signature achievement is helping pass a health care bill that forces people to buy the product of big special interest health insurance and pharmaceutical companies, is ridiculous.Chinaski wrote:"We share some of the views of the tea partiers in terms of the role of special interest in Washington, D.C.," Pelosi said in a taped interview airing Sunday on ABC's "This Week." This is just another example of her mastery of pravda - government anointed lies presented as truth.

Re: Nancy Pelosi is fucking naive
http://www.judicialwatch.org/press-room ... ians-2010/Rep. Na[sarcasm]ncy Pelosi (D-CA): “Air Pelosi” is now grounded.[/sarcasm]
Judicial Watch uncovered documents back in 2009 detailing attempts by Pentagon staff to accommodate Pelosi’s numerous requests for military escorts and military aircraft for herself and her family as well as the speaker’s 11th hour cancellations and changes. In 2010, Judicial Watch kept the pressure on Pelosi, uncovering documents that demonstrated the Speaker was using U.S. Air Force aircraft as her own personal party planes. Overall, the Speaker’s military travel cost the United States Air Force $2,100,744.59 over a two-year period — $101,429.14 of which was for in-flight expenses, including food and alcohol.
For example, purchases for one Pelosi-led congressional delegation traveling from Washington, DC to Tel Aviv, Israel and Baghdad, Iraq May 15-20, 2008, included: Johnny Walker Red scotch, Grey Goose vodka, E&J brandy, Bailey’s Irish Cream, Maker’s Mark whisky, Courvoisier cognac, Bacardi Light rum, Jim Beam whiskey, Beefeater gin, Dewar’s scotch, Bombay Sapphire gin, Jack Daniels whiskey, Corona beer and several bottles of wine.
Moreover, Pelosi also abused the rules by allowing members of her family to join her on taxpayer-funded Air Force flights. For example, on June 20, 2009, Speaker Pelosi’s daughter, son-in-law and two grandsons joined a flight from Andrews Air Force Base to San Francisco International Airport. That flight included $143 for on-flight expenses for food and other items. On July 2, 2010, Pelosi took her grandson on a flight from Andrews Air Force Base to Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California, which is northeast of San Francisco.
Judicial Watch’s efforts not only exposed Nancy Pelosi’s corrupt abuse of military aircraft, but they also led to reform when Rep. John Boehner announced after Election Day that, as Speaker of the House of Representatives, he will fly commercial to and from Ohio instead of using military aircraft.
Of course, it was Rep. Nancy Pelosi who famously promised to “drain the swamp” in Washington, DC during the campaign of 2006 when the Democrats seized control of power on Capitol Hill. That did not happen. Aside from her own personal transgressions, Pelosi also turned a blind eye to corruption on the part of her Congressional colleagues (see Charlie Rangel entry below).
“When I was in college, I took a terrorism class. ... The thing that was interesting in the class was every time the professor said ‘Al Qaeda’ his shoulders went up, But you know, it is that you don’t say ‘America’ with an intensity, you don’t say ‘England’ with the intensity. You don’t say ‘the army’ with the intensity,” she continued. “... But you say these names [Al Qaeda] because you want that word to carry weight. You want it to be something.” - Ilhan Omar
