Trying to identify a film...

Post by JacksSmirkingRevenge » Wed Jun 30, 2010 11:46 am

I've searched quite thoroughly and been unable to find it.
I think it was made for TV round about the late 80's / early 90's and involved a group of dogs who get up to the usual doggy antics such as digging up people's gardens etc. - all played by human actors. All the characters spoke English.
I only vaguely remember the plot...in which the main protagonist - a boisterous character - ended up getting neutered after getting the neighbour's poodle pregnant and lost the will to do much more than sit around and eat.
Does this ring any bells with anyone here? :ask:

Sorry, I was living in a school bus during those years. No TV. That was after Lassie, right? :dono:

Yeah. One scene springs to mind where, instead of a dog yapping/barking in the back of a car, there was a guy shouting through the gap at the top of the window - "Lemme out and I'll fuck yer up!...Lemme out and I'll fuck yer up!...Lemme out and I'll fuck yer up!...Lemme out and I'll fuck yer up!..." :D

It sounds like "look who's talking" or something along those lines.

I think that was about a baby or something, wasn't it?

This is a much lesser known film as far as I can tell.

No, fully dressed but in a way appropriate to the characters they were playing. For example, the female poodle was dressed in a frilly dress a bit like Marilyn Monroe or similar.

Edit - I have a suspicion that the director was female - not sure, though.
